New Alan Wake and BioWare, MGS Rising locked for VGAs

Spike's announced in a release this evening the next game from BioWare will be among several announces for the Spike Video Game Awards on December 10.

The new project will come from a new studio at the newly-made EA label.

Also confirmed is the unveil of the next Alan Wake title from Remedy, who first confirmed the existence of the title back in May.

Teases for both the BioWare game and Wake will be in the next issue of Game Informer.

Hideo Kojima will also be at the awards to re-reveal Metal Gear Solid: Rising, where the truth will "finally be revealed," according to Geoff Keighley on Twitter. Konami boss Shinji Hirano promised something big for the game this winter before E3.

Also announced were the nominations for the first two categories in the awards: Game of the Year and Most Anticipated. They are:

• The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
• Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
• Batman: Arkham City
• Portal 2
• The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

• Halo 4
• The Last Guardian
• Diablo III
• BioShock Infinite
• Mass Effect 3

Surely only 3 of those games can win GOTY, since the others haven't even come out yet?

Uncharted 3 will win GOTY easily.

Alan Wake ? that hould be considered Vaporware, cause the first one was in development since 1000000 BC.

BioWare's next game: Mass Effect 4, due for release after Dragon Age 3.

Then Mass Effect 5, 6, and 7 will come in the upcoming years.

obvious winners:

GOTY = Portal 2

Most Anticipated = Halo 4, I mean, is there any franchise beside COD that is bigger than Halo in the US?

Surely only 3 of those games can win GOTY, since the others haven't even come out yet?

this is the same show that gave blood in the sand awards...the fact gears 3 isn't in the catagories is odd when uncharted 3 is since gears 3 was released before so there should be no reason for it not to be up there but what do you expect when sony buys developers and pays out for things such as this.

hmmmm. I can't seem to find Gears Of War 3 ... must have been left off by accident.

Don't like VGAs much but those aren't bad choices even through some of those games haven't come out yet. Go Batman and Last Guardian!

this is the same show that gave blood in the sand awards...the fact gears 3 isn't in the catagories is odd when uncharted 3 is since gears 3 was released before so there should be no reason for it not to be up there but what do you expect when sony buys developers and pays out for things such as this.

Yeah totally Gears not there means Sony paid them to not list it, makes sense.. how about maybe the game sucks? they didnt like it? felt more like the same as the last one? didnt change anything? its just an overrated game imo just like halo

Have they even played Skyrim of Skyward Sword or are they just blindly nominating games? Skyrim and Skyward sword might be good enough to warrant a nomination from them after play, but for all we know they could both be really really really horrible.

For a second there my mind jumped to Gamespot's review of Infamous 2.

Also, I doubt that list is final. It would be one thing if they only forgot Gears 3 but there's also no Dark Souls, The Witcher 2, Shogun 2, etc.

Even with TOR a single player RPG would sell really well. There is demand.

After ME3 what does Bioware have to do? Their MMO division is separate.
