Look at that.

Good chance it wiill be downright unplayable/unoptimized POS when it comes out. I'll wait for a sale.

They are using a much more optimized version of their existing engine and have a done a lot of core engine changes. They also delayed the game for the sake of polishing. They refuse to repeat what happened with ArmA 2.
Holy Crap :o that was insane looking. That's the best natural lighting I've seen. It's not overdone like all these other "Realistic" looking games

I'm hoping I can run this game near maxed out at 6048 x 1080 with a 7990 + 7970 combo. ARMA 2 runs better on AMD cards...so hopefully it carries on with ARMA 3 (even though they are using PhysX, but unknown if it is just CPU or the GPU-optimized variation).[QUOTE="DimensionalUK"]

Interesting, if that is indeed the case then I'll withhold my judgement for user reviews/gameplay or if DayZ stops getting supported on Arma 2.
Did he just shoot a gun underwater? What kind of trickery is this?Loegi
You've never heard of guns that shoot underwater?
While it looks good the lighting shown HERE is far more impressive.
Grey_Eyed_Elf
That looks great but it's not realistic. It's lighting made to suit that type of game and world. It's very neon looking and very vivid colours. Arma III is going for all out realism in it's lighting.

Nope, ARMA2 was when it first came out but Operation Arrowhead was a HUGE improvement in performance. Not to mentino ARMA3 is using a very improved engine. I expect ARMA3 to be just as optimized as Operation Arrowhead and even more so.
Anyone who played ARMA2 and Operation Arrowhead will tell you the difference in performance was pretty big.

eh, OA still will randomly drop to 10fps if you happen to look at a town at a certain angle or go into the water no matter what settings i run it at.[QUOTE="001011000101101"]Doesn't look that special. The game's got no personality.Jebus213because it doesn't have a garbage movie style art direction like BF3, Gears, CoD, etc? It looks bland. What more is there to say? I like realism and all that, but at least make it interesting to look at.

BF3 has a garbage art direction? It's realistic, just like ArmA 3...
I'n BF3 everything is desaturated, it's one toned colored on some of the maps(Especially Seine Crossing), and there's a HUGE amounts of unnecessary lens flare. It's like they tried too hard to out do Saving Private Ryan. "Just look at how real this game looks guyz."-Yes, yes Jebus213, we know you hate battlefield 3. However, this thread is about ARMA 3, don't turn it into another thread where you just hate spam stuff about battlefield 3 for pages on end.ferret-gamerTo be fair, I HATE LENS FLARE!! :)

The only thing that bothers me is the excessive sun glare, everything else looks fine.
You're too hung up on hating it with every fiber of your being. Get that stick out of your ass. You've become some cynical that you can't enjoy video games anymore and have now made it out as your personal mission to try to ruin video games for everybody.
You'll start hating on Planetside 2 as soon as you finally see some gameplay. You'll accuse it of being to much like BF3 and to casual.
Of course, you'll label me as some "drone" and mindless fanboy for liking something you obviously hate. Your little bubble must be awesome.
I'd like better textures and better foliage. Especially foliage sticks out when of low quality.
Other than that, I like it, even if it's not my kind of game.
There is no autoaim, console kids will not be interested.
tenaka2
There's also no explosions every 5 seconds during the entire game and enemies don't pop up and down conveniently all the time

Can't forget those corridors. Poor kiddies would be lost without them.
