I'm not sure if it will be any comfort to you, but it is intentional. Just like everything Dante did was an over-the-top, cheesy attempt at coolness, Bayonetta is attempting to be "sexy". I'm not sure how that portion will work out, but I can safely say that the gameplay looks quite good, and that's enough to satisfy me.
