Make sure you get the latest patch for Crysis, which, last I knew was version 1.2. It made some difference on my computer and let me go higher on the settings (compared to non-patched).
Crysis Warhead (the other single-player game that comes in the maximum edition) runs as good or better than the patched Crysis.
That said, I hope they run well enough on your computer.
It's just a laptop ASUS g50 intel 2.53ghz 4 gig ddr3 ram 640 gig hard GeForce 9800 512mb card Nice screen I know crysis is a beast so I got my fingers crossed Is there online online mp or is there a campaign Mode as well? The 9800 is basically just a rebranded 8800, also considering the fact that his will be a mobile iteration, means that performance will also be less.
sure it does :P. btu crysis is a dam good game KZ2 has much better online though, Crysis' online is still fun dont get me wrong, but Singleplayer they are about par at least imho, both epic (though crysis graphics/physics/sacle made the single player for me)Just remember better graphics =/= better game

maybe, but his 9800 should still be better than my old 8800, only thing is i had a Q6600 backing it , so not sure if that would make much of a difference[QUOTE="-Traveller-"][QUOTE="Fanboy5647"] my old "8800", he has a 9800, so it should be good enoughFanboy5647

High he can pull off easily, maybe a mix of High-Very high at a mid resolution wiht no AA, also if he playes Crysis Warhead its better optimized and will run at a higher FPS so he could manage that.sure it can, example for crysis... 15-20fps vs 45-50fps 45-50fps will clearly be the smoother, better, overall more enjoyable gaming experienceJust remember better graphics =/= better game

I don't know if his rez goes up to 1680x1050 on that model of G50, but i'd be expecting about the performance above, with VH, at about 1440x900, or maybe even 1366x768.

9800 GTX that's overclocked a little bit. Going off this, I stand by mid-high at a lower resolution, attaining probably 25FPS.
The GPU in the laptop is probably a 9800M GS or a 9800M GT.

The 9800 GTX+ yielded better performance(about 5 fps difference) than my old 8800 GTS 640 mb. So obviously it can't be just a rebranded card. Unless you are being specific and talking about the 9800 GT or something?
Crysis is an amazing single player experience to say the least, one of the greatest I've ever encountered I almost would say.

I agree when we start to look at the 9800GTX+ you'll start to see an increase over the 8800 series. The 9800GT gives around the same performance as an 8800GT.
Sorry I was talking in relation to the cards in the Asus G50, as I believe the only 2 iterations are the 9800M GS and 9800M GT.

Oh yeah, then I believe that. The 9800 GT is really cheap though, so I can see why this would be. It's just like the GTS 250 being just a little bit better than the 9800 GTX+. And the 250 is actually cheaper, odd.[QUOTE="-Traveller-"][QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"]

Unfortunately I haven't kept up on the GTS 250 iteration.
Here are a few tips before you play.
1. Download the latest patch to fix bugs and help performance.(I think Maximum edition has the latest patch's thoe...)
2. I hugely recommend you look into using config files, They will help your performance and also let you play on Very high if you are using XP.
-I reccomand you use CCC if you are struggling for performance. The game will look better and you will gain a huge performance boost.
http://www.crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=33369
-if you want your game to look alot better I recommend you download the Ultra High config. It comes with the config files to run Very high on XP and also comes with an Ultra High config which improves the look of the game alot.

Their are other tweaks and config files to use out their. Its hugely recommended to use them for better performance and a better looking game.
Ha!
I'm in the same boat as you. I just ordered all of the parts to my first gaming rig along with Crysis Maximum. Everything should be arriving over the course of next week. :D

The 9800 GTX is a rebranded 8800 GTS 512. They both use the same core, the G92. The 9800 GTX+ just uses higher core and memory clocks, which explains the higher performance. Also, the GTS 250 is a rebranded 9800 GTX. NVIDIA seems to like to do the whole 'new sticker, same card' thing. Hopefully they stop. It's kinda deceiving to the customer. Please Log In to post.
