Doesn't the new update also reduce the file sizes of games when installed to the HDD? Besides making everything more streamline, I think that update will be the best. Avatar clothes, no thanks.

"Games on Demand" isn't an entirely accurate description. It isn't exactly on-demand if you have to download it. On demand usually refers to streaming content : /

Not much for me, nice to have things streamlined and the size of installed games is reduced. Other than that i'd rather go to blockbusters and rent a game/film than use any of these downloads or streaming services. I'd probably get 3 items off the avatar store and won't touch it after that.

Do you have a link besides Kotaku's about that? Kotaku offered new numbers but they never stated what they were previously. I wonder if you have to reinstall games...

Firmware 3.0 ... its like the most wanted PS3 firmware of all time and many things point to a fall release. PSN-CONNECT, PS CLOUD and PS THANKS are all trademarked by Sony, PS CLOUD and PSN-CONNECT both have there own websites registered by Sony but are not up yet. PS THANKS is just a reward system for rewarding active PS3 consumers most likely going to come out this holiday season so people can buy more stuff and be rewarded. Kaz Hirai and Sir Howard Stinger have said that PSN will expand in 2010.

There have been supposed leaks of PS cloud, which would be a place that would update you with what your friends have been doing e.g.Player X is playing Game A and Player Y has obtained trophy C. That and i think you could share things over it, i heard something about echochrome levels being shared over it. PS thanks is probably the PS3 version of xbox live's rep system where you can file complaints and rate the player as good or bad. Not sure what PSN connect is though. These are all rumors though.

R_MAHIL

For me, there's not much in there that I'm excited about. Movie night? I don't have a 360 to watch movies. I use it to game. I have my bluray and PS3 to watch HD movies. Avatars? You got to be kidding me! I wouldn't spend a penny buying a fake Tshirt or fake tennis shoes. You really must have no life to spend real world money to buy something like that to impress your online buddies. Full 360 games? Sounds like MS and publishers are sick and tired of losing money to used games sales. To me, this is just a ploy to get people to buy their full game at full price and then not be able to sell it afterward. Will not fall for their cheap tactics. And the last bit about 1080p streaming video--we'll see. I don't have a zune so I don't care for that. And as for personalized radio stations, why would I turn on my 360 so I can listen to the radio station? I already have a laptop to accomplish all that. Ditto for Facebook (and I don't use Twitter).

It's supposed to reduce the file size when instaling a game to the HDD, that'll be neat. That's all I really care about, I'm not interested in virtual clothes and Twitter.

My bro got into that preview program and I tried it and everything was smoother, faster, and more streamlined. I didn't notice that 3 second lag that can occur when you're using the guide button or just moving through the blades. I like how the Achievements are more detailed and everything is more organized in their own sections. Inviting friends to Party Chats and into games got more easier and faster. So overall it's a good update and I'm looking forward for the second phase when they add more features.

I have been part of the "preview" update and have had it for almost a week now....The preview is the same as the full update.....and I like it.....IMO nothing groundbreaking..The navigation seems faster...but other than that I "really" don't notice that much of a difference...

You must have no life to spend money on virtual clothing? Who cares. You know what, I'm going to buy some just because it pisses most of you off so much. Why the hell do you care how someone else spends their money? It's THEIR money, not yours.

You must have no life if you're on a video game forum. See how stupid assumptions are? Get real, the world doesn't have to revolve around you.
