GS just posted this in the News Section, but the comments don't work, so I thought I would share it here and get some reactions from the community. I must say that I'm impressed with the improvements in this game. The game looked stunning when it was originally shown, they it was downgraded quite a bit. Now it looks like it's been upgraded again. I love the animation. It appears you'll be able to play split screen and with 4 players. I'm still concerned with the Microtransactions, but since the game is F2P, I can't see anyone not giving this game a try at least.

Here's the story. Provide your feedback.

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/ps4-exclusive-deep-down-gets-stunning-new-trailer-/1100-6421995/

Capcom today released a stunning new gameplay trailer for its upcoming free-to-play PlayStation 4 exclusive Deep Down, showing off gorgeous environments, fierce dragons, and the game's four-player mode. That's the good news. The not-so-great news is that the publisher also confirmed that the game's beta has been delayed 2015, according to a translation of the video you see above by Siliconera.

Deep Down producer Kazunori Sugiura said the delay was necessary to deliver a good experience for players. He also apologized to players who have been left waiting for the beta, which was originally expected to launch this summer before being delayed multiple times. The Deep Down beta has been announced only for Japan so far.

Powered by Capcom's new Panta Rhei engine, Deep Down features dungeons that exist in a shared world, similar to that of Demon's Souls or Dark Souls. No release date for the game has been announced. Regarding the game's free-to-play business model, and the microtransactions that will be available, producer Yoshinori Ono said the game will offer a "large variety of content at reasonable prices."

That's fine, I'm cool with the wait until next year and Deep Down looks good so far.

I'm still assuming this won't release in N. America. Until it's confirmed as being released outside of Japan, I don't care about this title.

Yeah, they still haven't said anything about this coming to N.A. or European countries, so we'll just have to wait and see. At least they made some progress, but they don't need to say anything else until the Beta is ready to go and they have news about the game coming to other markets.

Any of you guys remember that very first deep down trailer that was supposed to be realtime gameplay? The game still looks great, but did they really have to make a trailer like that?

@lawlessx: Actually no, they said it was a tech demo or engine demonstration, something along those lines never did they state it was gameplay.

Deep Down is one of my hyppest games for the PS4 and im not turned of about the F2P aspect if handled right aka everything unlockable with grinding.

I mean seriously, there are no Dungeon Crawlers that play and look like this.

I wonder if you can still aim the weapons like shown before. I remember you could target specific parts of the monsters, stagger/parry them and even poke out their eyes.

Here is some cool gif from Neogaf.

That first trailer was designed to appear to look like gameplay (ex:had a HUD).

It was created to be misleading.

Capcom and Sony are good when it comes to misleading. What's shown now looks like gameplay. I'm hoping it is anyways. Glad they got the visuals back to a high standard.

How misleading can it really be if they said right before showing of the trailer.

They talk specifically about tech and engines. You can watch the part I just searched from 1:28:00 at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l15nv-09h5c

So yeah, I disagree that they were trying to mislead people.

Still not good enough. The fact that you needed to post me the reveal of them stating it is issue here. I was talking about the trailer being misleading and only the trailer. If a person who didn't watch the reveal watched that first trailer they would assume its gameplay because they featured an HUD in it.

In your first post, you specifically stated it was supposed to be realtime gameplay, which is wrong. They outright told its an engine trailer. Now you are saying how they presented the engine is the real culprit, you are moving the goal post.

But okay even then I still disagree, many shots were from ancles that clearly showed it was not gameplay even if two or three shots had a fake as **** HUD. The current trailers are very close to the first trailer minus the handcrafted environments. I think they could replicate the first trailer ingame if they made the game cinematic.

well then lets just agree to disagree then. game still looks great, but i do wonder why they found it best to make it F2P.

@lawlessx: Okay, I wanted to suggests this next anyway.

I think its like a testrun for the engine. Sony is working with them on the engine and I dont think it has a real huge budget.

Sony gets an exclusive and Capcom gets deep technical support.

I don't like it because it's F2P. I hate games like that because I feel I don't own them. When I buy a game I want all the core content right there. F2P doesn't give you that.

Doesn't work like that anymore. You're paying $60 for half a game now.

Erm.. wouldn't go that far. A few DLC shit is add ons. With F2P, a lot of shit is behind a huge paywall. It's a pretty bare bones experience without spending a few on content.

Yea but this is behind Sony wall of quality.
