New Fable gameplay footage? Also delayed to 2026.

This dropped. Not really following this game but wonder if anyone who does saw this yet.

Is it trying to go for souls like combat (0:37 in the video)? Also cinematic combat?

It looks like Fable will have a variety of different combat options, including wielding swords, hammers, and magic spells. There also seems to be seamless transition between cinematic cutscenes and combat.

Apparently the game has been delayed to 2026.

"We previously announced the date for Fable as 2025; we are actually going to give Fable more time and it's going to ship in 2026 now," Duncan explained. "While I know that's not maybe the news people want to hear, what I want to assure people of is that it's definitely worth the wait."

Better to delay it and not ship it when it isn't fully baked.

While I am very much looking forward to this game I’m totally fine with it being delayed.

At what point does Fable get the Duke Nukam forever treatment? There are few games I'd rsther play right now than a new fable.... But that game has been teases for like a decade... At some point it's like eff you.

Ugh.... So it'll be what 6 to 7 before it launches? Who does it help to announce games this far in advance. Often times they announce and by the time the delays are done I've lost interest. Why not just keep our mouths shut until we can show something nearing completion?

I assume all of the games announced back then were an attempt to keep people interested in the platform. Fable, Perfect Dark, Everwild, ES6 all announced around that time and MS only had 5 studios I believe

This looks amazing, but it's Playground games so what did I expect.

Wish people wouldn't obsess over how the main protagonist/other people look so much, but oh well.

I gotta say, the Ginger girl looks way better than the reveal so that's a huge improvement if I ever saw one for a new Fable. The combat looks interesting than Avowed IMO of course. That said, I'll always support delays if it helps polishing the game itself and I always say no need to rush it. Take as much time as you need. "A delayed game is eventually good. A Rush game is forever bad" and I stand by this quote to this day!

Why does everyone keeps pointing out GTA6 as if it'll be the best thing since slice of bread. GTA6 maybe a juggernaut but it sure is not for everyone IMO.

No problem with the delay i'll be to busy playing all the great games currently on Game Pass and also Oblivion remasterd this summer. So a delay is fine and get it right and polished.

I agree with you, and I dont plan on buying it until it comes to PC. (I'm also 43 so i've kind outgrown it).

I'm in the minority though, and it is going to sell 50+ million and sell consoles/PCs because people are hyped about it.

I'm not saying anything about QUALITY, I'm strictly speaking objectively about SALES and industry impact.

I didnt think GTA5 was an amazing game either, but the industry impact is undeniable

Speculation going around is that the delay is to make sure the PS5 version is ready to go on day 1.

FFS with that woke abomination still. We better be able to make our own characters like the old games. Also, this game lacks the art direction of the old games. They went with a generic realistic look which doesn't suit the franchise. They should have went with something more along the lines of Kena: Bridge of Spirits.

I've lost all faith in MS, I was looking forward to Fable, but I'm gonna cross it off my list now, they just can't get it right.

I am hoping Fable, Gears E-Day, Perfect Dark Reboot, Everwild, State of Decay 3 finally release and turn out good so I have a reason to buy an Xbox Series X

Doubt it since the MC is still ugly af. The delay is more likely a PS5 thing.

They should've stuck to making Forza Horizon although there is propably another team working on 6.

Let the game cook. I only played the 1st two fable games, but I never thought they where top tier, Kind of too simple and short. If they have more time to refine it and make a great game then go for it.

Low expectations can lead to being satisfied with your original thought or breaking them and it being better than you imagined it would be. The former of which is where I stand with this game currently, and the later which hopefully holds true.

So many Xbox 1st party games and not enough time to enjoy them all is the reason and Uncle Phil is just trying to spread out all the goodness so we can really enjoy ourselves. ;o

Turn10's upcoming Fable game has plenty of enemies for you to swing your sword at, from werewolves to a really big version of roving travel show host Richard Ayoade, but it looks like your greatest challenge might just be an incredibly angry chicken.

A giant chicken that is, as a recent Xbox Game Studios update video briefly showed the Fable protagonist taking on the John Wick of chickens. It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, but this rooster looks ready to throw down. Good luck trying to kick this feathery fiend.

That's a good idea to look into this because the normal price of Game Pass could go up by 1/3rd
