I could see a distinct difference between the battle system gameplay and the CGI cutscenes in the FFXIII trailer.

The Versus trailer is more cinematic as you would expect from Nomura. But the FF13 trailer got me most excited by showing off a lot of different locations and some actual gameplay. Although I couldn't really see it in this trailer, I'm pretty sure GS said that those two Shivas fuse together to form the blonde dude's motorbike.

Also, does anyone else think the FF13 chick looks like Uma Thurman?

Same goes for versus, the art and some concept looked like it's from VIII.

These games are driving the HYPE meter into overload : anything more and it'll be an explosive release day for both games, and a mass scale review from gaming websites and magazines all around the world in the following days. If it flops, it'll FLOP HARD like no other game before it. If it succeeds, the opposite holds true.

Either way, I'm glad with the era Square-Enix have settled themselves with : it roots itself back into the Steam Punk genre, with clear FFVII and FFVIII inspirations (soldiers swarming with their guns like Shinra Corp.'s military unit, guns and swords everywhere and characters that remind you of Irvine, Zell, Squall from FFVIII and Vincent, Tifa (with guns) from FFVII).

Well, I enjoyed all FF games thus far (with the exceptions of FFXI, haven't played it, and FFVII : DoC was horrible).

overexaggeration much? all that's going on is FF fanboys splooging their pants over 2 trailers with little to no gameplay.

a trailer is just that, to get you excited. the hype you speak of is over the trailer, not over the game itself.

Most lemmings that care about FF will get a PS3 like myself, all the others won't care too much for either because they aren't interested in it anyway.

But I'll be honest, whatPS3 got in JRPG's, 360 got in shooters. Halo3,Mass Effect and GeoW are really,really awesome games!

Although, are both of these games going to have real-time combat? I've almost lose the desire to play turn-based RPG's anymore, even FFVII which is my favorite game of all-time. :(
