Looks amazing, though I was hoping for a 2022 holiday release date. Oh well, hopefully that will give them the time they need to optimize the game! Thoughts, SW? You excited?

The first trailer was good, but this one is ehh. I usually ignore FF titles, but i do have my eye on this one. If its not everly weeb, i might grab it.

The combat looks good. You can see the work of Ryota Suzuki (Devil May Cry) in the combat system. And I wasn't expecting Kaiju monster battles, which should make the combat more interesting.

Story wise, there's still not much revealed beyond the first trailer. But since it's the writers of FFXIV Shadowbringers, the writing should be good.

The Final Fantasy XVI team:

@SolidGame_basic: Not really excited because it looks like more dumbed down hack'n'slash combat. It has been downhill for FF since FF10. Give me a challenging, strategic battle system instead of a movie game. I am more excited to replay FF5 or FF6 for the tenth time than this new game.

Uh.. how do you know they’re working on FF8 remake? Ff7 remake is years from being complete

Seems like the main target audience for this game is FFXIV players... who, for all intents and purposes, are currently the biggest player base for Square Enix. FFXIV is easily their biggest game at the moment, and it's helped introduce millions of Gen Z gamers to the FF franchise. So FFXVI might be trying to introduced these new FFXIV players to the core FF series.

Its been ages since i got excited with final fantasy. I started gaming because of my love playing 7-10. It kinda died off after that.

Just like we knew RE4 Remake was happening. FF8 is bound to happen.

That's why I want them to hurry up with this FF16 stuff so we can finally get FF8, FF9 and FFX remakes...

If 8R happens it won't be for a decade or so. FF9R was already leaked during the Nvidia leak, which has been staggeringly accurate thus far. 8R and 10R simply don't exist at this point.

I can't wait till this one comes out. Definitely my most anticipated game rn. Since this is being done by a different team we should be getting more FFVII Remake 2 news pretty soon too.

Greatness waits.
