Errr, wtf? I saw the cockpit gameplay demos and it looks nothing like this...
This topic is locked from further discussion.
You won't get that view in gameplay. As long as all the gauges work, and there are animations for paddle shifters it should be fine. You can look left to right but I dont think you can look up and down

These are surprisingly honest press shots from Turn 10. The cars looks lifeless, textures fail to distinguish and the lighting continues to be desired. While Forza's cars don't seem to looks as realistic than GT5's or as flamboyant as NFS:Shift's, they are still a vast improvement over Forza 2. The gameplay is sure to deliver and the graphics are more forgivable when we realise this. I do wish that with all of the claims that Turn 10 made in terms of visuals (polygons, interiors, textures, etc.), that they would atleast deliver. I am going to hold myjudgement on Forza 3 untill release.
I agree. Good post. Let's forget about graphics for now and just wait for more gameplay videos. These are surprisingly honest press shots from Turn 10. [QUOTE="TREAL_Since"]Wait a minute. I thought Forza 3 looked better. These look VERY plastic. Kind of like Hotwheels cars. The pics I saw months ago looked much better :?.whatisazerg
Umm... what do you think the body of a car is made of? Iron? Candy? Snowflakes?

[QUOTE="playharderfool"]
Wow the lighting on the cars in Forza3 is horrible (looks at fender) the lighing in GT5P destroys this and came out in 07-08?
Seriously that lighting hereis on PS2 level at best. I said myself that I think overall that Forza3 looks better Than GT5P in another thread but after looking at these screens...I don't konw anymore.
Rikusaki
Hmmm:
Looks quite different from what you posted therefore you fail
That's because he posted an actual gameplay direct-feed screenshot (notice the aliasing), and you posted a photomode screen...I'm seriously Wowed if you think that the jaggie pic is gameplay.
HOW do you NOT realize fanboys shop it?
Forza has all 400 interiors modeled. Unlike GT5 which only has 170. Granted GT5 has a lot more cars than FM3 in general. What we are seeing in both cases is the consequences of modeling so many car models with massive poly counts in a single game..I'll take GT5 thank you very much! :D
Maybe thats why GT5 is taking almost forever. Perfection

Graphics aren't everything. Else wise shift would have scored higher than a 7. Check out these cockpits. Also have full stick shift, paddle shifters, gas brake and clutch animations, as well as fully functional gauges. An amusing side note is that PD designed the Driver-configurable Multi-Function Display system seen in these images on the Nissan GTR. Link.(Performance moniter Tab)[QUOTE="AAllxxjjnn"]Why doe those interiors look like they have graphical glitches going on in them?Couth_
I wonder how many manufacturers are doing collaberations with Turn 10?

Ok, so once AGAIN you ignor all of my valid points, and pick on the subjective one. Point is, that whatching a car get to much angle a spin during a drift, (A rather, inershia less looking drift at that,) is something that happens back in forza 1, And while you can say, yea, thats realistic, it doesn't prove much really significant. Actuallly considering that subi is AWD, the drift didn't even look real good. it was like he was rotating along a center point, instead of the tires, and could crossover really fast. But like I said, thats subjective, and unconclusive, do to watching meaning close to nothing.

[QUOTE="TREAL_Since"] Cars in general aren't composed entirely of plastic though. I know that much. And it varies per car/ manufacturer. Isn't aluminum the most popular material?
What I'm saying is that these cars look like toys honestly. That's my first impression from these new screens. The interiors especially...and to be fair, plastic is heavily used in the interior of cars. But the textures don't look right. Then again, I've never been on the inside of any of these vehicles.
TREAL_Since
LOL.... so your complaint is that the frame of the cars in those pics look plasticy? You have X-Ray vision? LOL
And yeah... most cars have plastic bodies.... they might call it a polymer something something.... but guess what that means? It's a fancy word for plastic. What does it matter that cars are not made entirely of plastic? 95% of what is not plastic is hidden beneath the plastic.
Edit* I agree with you on the interiors... they seem lackluster....
Edit* Ex-that.... the interiors are actually much cleaner looking that NS:Shift.... they have a lower polygon count... but Shifts Interiors are blurry & muddy.... take a look at Forza's interiors again.... the details are lower... but everything is crisp.
Anyway... I'm still impressed that the 360/PS3 can produce visuals like GT & FOrza, considering the hardware. I'd love to see what devs could do with the specs of my rig.
Where does X-Ray vision come into play? You point out that the "95% of what is not plastic is hidden beneath the plastic". Suggesting that the plastic material coats the other materials. So if the plastic visible from the exterior, how does the X-Ray reference relate?Consider "plastic" as a synonym of mine for looking unrealistic. The point I was making is that some of the screens look like representations of toys to me (inside and out). The technicalities of the usage doesn't discredit the fact it looks that way. The game looks good, it's just not what I thought it was. That's no fault of the game though.
In addition, what confuses me a bit is that I swore it didn't look exactly like this before...The interiors are clean though.
Don't worry about it TREAL, he is wrong anyway. only a couple cars have plastic body panels, like Saturns and Camaro/WS6. Most other cars have body panels composed of stamped steel. Only front and rear bumpers are composed of Urethane, but that hardly qualifies as the entire body of a car. Corvettes were fiber glass for a while, and the Z06's are made from Carbon fiber.
Thats neither here nor there. I knew what you meant, so did probably everyone else but him. He just wanted to make a big stink over nothing.
