Watching the trailer, the game looks on par with Motorstorm. 

The artwork looks great, but the actual game looks like a PS2 title. I thought this was a Wii game until I saw a PS3 logo at the top of the screen, no joke.THETRUEDOZAH

It looks great, and also it looks pretty fun. The sixaxis controls got me interested in this. Capturing the monsters with the motion controls seems fun.

Call me amazed

i think folklore looks REALLY cool. but its crucial that they do two things:

1) a good story

2) and most importantly, make the gameplay non-repetitive. From what i've seen of videos, you only use one spirit thing at a time. this may change as your progress in the game, but using one thing over and over again, even though you can switch, can get boring.
