Well it wasn't thaat bad, but I'm glad they redid this one. Is it gunna be free? Now all they have to do to get me back in it is a remake of Ascension (favourite Halo 2 map by far).

Its not based on Midship. Its not a remake or a "spiritual successor". Its just aesthetically similar.

Yeah. Those are just pics and they are not even best quality. Look at the second picture with the chief model. it looks like n64 graphics.

Seriously, this is ridiculous. Every time I see a topic about this map about a third of the responses are asking if it's going to be free.

Just becasue Cold Storage was free doesnt mean every subsequent map will be free.

You must have not payed attention, but Cold Storage was free to celebrate Bungie Day. Bungie Day is only once a year.

The only other time any Halo map was free was when there was a small map pack in Halo 2 that was free courtesy of Mountain Dew.

Sorry, but every day is not Bungie Day and Mountain Dew isnt going to cover the cost of every map pack.

But Map packs in general typically are not released for free on consoles. They know people will pay for them, so they charge for it. That, and people work on these maps, so they kinda do deserve some sort of payment.

For example though, the variety map pack for CoD4 was and still is ten bucks on the 360. But it was free on the PC. Infinity ward probably did this(anod other copamies) because they know if they charge for it, it wont make a big difference on the PC because people are going to pirate it anyway.

I think it would be hard to pirate maps on the PC. I've never pirated so I can't say for sure but I think people have alot of difficulty pirating multiplayer content,as in it doesn't work.

Anyway,if map packs on Halo 3 are only 5-10$,I don't mind paying aslong as they're good.

The first map pack for Halo 3 was a waste of money IMO. The second one was well worth it though.

I saw it on the BWU, looks nice.

Sort of like a cross between Warlock, Desolation, and Midship.

Bungie clearly stated that it is not a remake, or a spiritual successor, or anything of the like. The only thing they have in common are the aesthetics and maybe a few easter egg homages to Midship from Halo 2. That being said this map looks amazing. Not too excited about the green fog though. Flood? nooo.

Yeah, same here. This would only be our second Covenant based map. I really Don't want any flood thrown in. I wont cry, but I'd rather it be floodless.

Bungie has yet to say in what way they'll be releasesing it(as in weather it'll be with other maps or not).

We'll just have to wait and see.
