New info and screens of Shin Megami Tensei 4 for the 3DS.

Looking so good. The game rids of random encounters, and puts in The Symbol Encounter system where you can strike the enemy to get first strike.

Another thing noted is that thepress turn system from Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne that rewards players that exploit enemy weaknesses with extra turn will return. The game takes place starting with East Mikado in "1492" where the main character comes to the kingdom to become a samurai who hunt and can summon demons. He and a group of samurai are sent to Tokyo to protect it from demons. Lots of screens in there, and man does this game looks amazing.

Looks like crap, Atlus sucks, still 2d battles lol, no shoji meguro and won't come out in europe

Nocturne just like Persona are spin-off from the main series which is Shin Megami Tensei. I say this because this game is from the main series and it has nothing to do with those 2 you just mentioned. Why a main series is on handhelds while the spin offs on consoles is beyond me though....

edit: forget it, apparently Nocturne is actually the 3rd game of the main series. I got confused since they normally just put a number to the games of the main series and use a second tittle for the spin-offs. But then I got curious about which one was the 3rd game and you know, it was Nocturne.

But Nocturne is just an archaic and boring dungeon crawler while the last 2 Persona games evolved the JRPG formula beyond any other game. Persona 3 & 4 are in a league of their own. =/

I'd like to get this game, but I guess it won't come out in Europe/Australia/NZ. It's a shame. Oh well, atleast there's Persona 5 on the way.

Agreed. I've even seen people dismiss it for stupid reasons like the enemies being sprites. Then again, most of the people dismissing it are Sony/Vita fanboys who inevitably find a reason to dismiss any RPG that comes out on 3DS.

Anyway, the game looks fvcking awesome. The art design oozes atmosphere.
