@R4gn4r0k: The most exciting part is that the "eSports features" will be coming to the Source version of Insurgency before they release Sandstorm! Hopefully that means actual competitive matchmaking / team support :) Historically, smaller studios seem to have trouble when it comes to optimizing UE3/4 games - especially for lower end PCs. See ARK, Hatred, Dirty Bomb, Squad...Because just from past experiences, when a small studio releases a game on UE4, it usually is not optimized at all. Nothing wrong with UE4 in general, it's a powerful engine that works especially well with first person games. We'll just have to see if the devs can make it run - one of the big selling points of games like CS:GO and Insurgency is that they run on older machines as well. Then again, a game like Insurgency not being held back by the outdated source engine, and coupled with the insane modding capabilities of the unreal engine, that's a lot of potential. On the current source engine, it 'feels' fast paced, smooth and really easy to pick up and put down. I don't want the new Ins to 'feel' heavier and clunky a bit like how Squad feels, I wouldn't mind something similar to battlefield. But would prefer it to be kept or a very minor difference from what it is now. As for Campaign (75% of the budget xD) , if they do it right and can create a story for the game. I reckon it'll be a smashing success.
Unreal 4 is free to use but i think Epic Games still gets its 5% cut of your royalties. Valve said that Source 2 would be free for developers, and there would be no royalty charge for using the engine. The good thing is the Valve VR titles are Source 2 based, also Vulkan is the preferred render for Source 2. I hope the new GMod is on Source 2. GDC will give more news, maybe even a release but it's Valve so who knows.
"HL3" and "L4D3" mentioned in strings in the SteamVR Performance Test, along with a high quality model of Dog.
No please. Not this again. :D

Say goodbye to complexity.
That CDPR $ statement and Crysis 2 left bitter taste in the mouth. Insurgency is one of the online FPS that I still care about. I've been burned far too many times by anything that tried to cater to the console audience. This is what happens: http://webmshare.com/1R0V3 I really hope that this won't turn to shit but I have a feeling that it will. The other thing I'd be worried about though is Focus Home Interactive intervening in the development process and removing content for any number of reasons (e.g Future DLC, console catering, disagreements, etc).
