these look awesome, i liked the melee assassination animations, they were really cool. something that scares me though is the lunge with the animations, killzone 2 has no lock on lunge for melees which made close quarter very skillful. judging by the videos, there are lunges now
Roughly on par with Gears 3 (judging exclusively by these screenshots and the recent GeOW3 and not the gameplay footage for either), both im sure are still rockin placeholder assets and are far from looking like their final product. Some of these screenshots look pretty rough and unpolished (poor/unfinished textures) while others look outstanding.
Killzone games are special. The overall graphics are actually not that great, but they spent so much into the style and lighting that it actually looks good. The weapon models I admit are amazing, so are the lightning effects. But the filters and styles make up for a lot of boxyness and grey.
Can you people stop staying alpha stage. The game engine is the same from Killzone 2. When you say alpha stage for something it's only relevant when talking about a new game engine that's still under heavy development. K2 > K3 will have some few adjustments and improvements and that's all.
Is it just me, or does it look better than Crysis 2, in terms of gun models and post-processing effects? Crysis 2 has destructibility and physics and scale, but Killzone 2 gun models are unquestionably unmatched in that regards.

I think that's pretty clear cut they look awesome.:o
I'm talking PC the footage you showed was 360, but even so they are very comparable in the videos with you posted and i would give a slight edge to KZ3, however the original footage of KZ3 didn't look that great really IMO.
