New killzone 3 multiplayer interview with new multiplayer details!!!

New features listed below

  • New modes called "Guerialla Warfare", a team death match mode with closer combat ranges,and "Operations", an objective story based mode that shows footage of the skillful players that accomplished the various tasks in this new mode (Note: Im not sure how many different kinds of objectives there are, though they said there is, at least, a search and destroy typemission)
  • There is (obviously) vehicle gameplay incorporated in to the multiplayer
  • They added a dynamic spawn system which enables you to spawn relatively close to the action in the map, without spawning you too close for you to get spawn killed (Finally, a game that has this:P )
  • They have added all the c.l.a.s.s.e.s from the beginning, so you can play right from the get-go
  • there are 5 careers (c.l.a.s.s.e.s) to choose from, with each having 6 different abilities per c.l.a.s.s
  • The weapons you unlock are also tailored to each c.l.a.s.s
  • The leveling system is now to 45 with you constantly unlocking items throughout the 45 ranks, and you can obtain much more ribbons, much more ranks, and a point system is implemented that you can use to unlock abilities
  • The clan system has clan based rewards, and is integrated with a party system. You can see if they are online and join there games.
  • Obviously the brutal melee system is incorporated, with MOVE and 3D support

This game is going to be amazing :o. I suspect a very solid 9.5 and, most likely, multiplayergame of the year and shooter of the year.

Any News on Gun Customization? A big complaint was that the game didn't have a large amount of guns... only one sniper... I hope they at least add more or customization.

Yes, it does have weapon customization (Almost 100%), as shown in the multiplayer trailer

Well, the only one that wasnt helpful all that much was the scout, but other than that, the classes had an important role to play in each game

Well, the only one that wasnt helpful all that much was the scout, but other than that, the classes had an important role to play in each game

Tactician was the only important role. After that it didn't really matter what class you were as none of them are needed. I like class based FPS where each class is needed in order for the team to be successful.

Why is that? For me, its easily one of my favorite games this gen

Bought it the first day for 60 dollars. Played the campaign, got bored a little half way through. Multiplayer only lasted a month because it never held my interest. I went back and beat the campaign like 6 months later and played the multiplayer for a few days before getting bored with it again. As far as shooters on the PS3, Resistance was better.

Hopefully we will hear more about the co-op. Adding online co-op a la UC2/GeoW2 would be nice.

Well, thats the same with KZ2, though it isnt a neccessity. Its basically an even split, giving you robust mechanics and options go to lone-wolf play style, or within a squad

Yes, but GG is working very hard on balancing

Alright because I saw that video showing off Move with Killzone 3, and I just thought it would be pretty cheap for Move players to just use that auto lock feature online.

Alright because I saw that video showing off Move with Killzone 3, and I just thought it would be pretty cheap for Move players to just use that auto lock feature online.

Sounds much MUCH better than Killzone 2. These new changes will hopefully balance the game a bit better and encourage more teamwork. Only thing I'm worried about is that they lowered the player limit from 32 to 24(according to Killzone forum users posting news, could be wrong/misinterpreted). Then again, those 32 person radec academy servers were horrible.

No, no, they definately did not lower the MP player count (Almost 100% sure). Also, I thought those 32 players on Radec Academy was great, mainly because of the great map designs

The price drops within the first 4 months meant it wasn't worth 60 dollars for people to want to purchase.

You should try out the demo to see if you like the gameplay, though if you do like the gameplay, yes, buy KZ2 . Its cheap and long lasting :)

Its $20 at my best buy. + in Oct '09 (last time I went), Halo 3 was still selling @ $40 at Target...2 years after the release:?

Everyone in SW has high expectations for sales. I can't believe there are actually some people who think that LBP, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2 and ODST sold bad...

If you like games like Halo and Resistance, there's no guarrantee that you'll like Killzone. It's very heavy feeling controls, very different from most other shooters.

All this multiplayer news looks like good news to me. Hopefully they fix assault class though. 99% of the matches in Killzone 2 had assault ripped out because of how cheap it was.

I think a GG dev said they lowered it to fit the balance of the maps better. Atleast that's what I saw on KZ forums. And on this GT thread I googled http://forums.gametrailers.com/thread/killzone-3---26-new-mp-details/1110146 Still, 24 players is probably for the better if it's balance wise. Considering the fact you can spawn anywhere depending on your teammates you don't need 8 extra people to fill the void in the big maps.

Despite that I couldnt get myself to finish the campaign or really pull myself away from TF2, CoD or any other of my staple multiplayer games. I rented and was kind of underwhelmed. That being said KZ3 looks to fix a lot of things and with some tightening on controls and just gameplay quirks this could well be a purchase worthy game.

I don't get how unlocking those guns again will help keep the game fresh. I only went prestige once in MW1 and that still didn't stop me from getting bored of the game.
