I can't imagine a more annoying sound design than Lair. That's what's really jumped out at me from the latest trailers. I guess its the sound effect for shooting the fireballs. One of the most grating things I've ever heard.

I actually agree with that sentiment. In the gametrailer videos, the player in addition to sucking, spammed the fireballs way too much and didnt hit anything either.
It looks a hell of alot better than HALO 3, I know that much.

Nothing of course, lol. I was just making a statement in response to your opinion, that it "looks worse everytime you see it." To each their own, but it is in no way a "horrible" looking game. I merely used Halo 3 as an example because for a flagship game, it sure looks a hell of alot less impressive than what all Lair has been showing by a large margin. In other words, I was just trying to prove that in fact it does not look bad by using Halo 3 as a comparison....thats all, man.Â

i agree they shouldve went 720p, couldve got more effects maybe. but to have the game as it is with expansive levels and so much going on with thousands of soldiers in 1080p is a technical achievement in itself.

Why do game developers constantly keep making games that focus so much on graphical showcasing and less and less on actually fun and stimulating gameplay? Lair looks amazing... but why does it look so boring?

I see some positives with Lair, but I have to agree that the Tie Fighter sound effects are a terrible match with DRAGONS! I really hope that is not left in but that some kind of roaring/nashing/stomping sound effects are added for mor effect. Honestly though, if I had a PS3 I don't think I would get the game in its current design. I would definitely have to wait for the reviews before I bought it.
