Although there is no gameplay it gave us many hints of what might be in the game. Look really gritty realistic with no colorful lazer beams or anything like that! Enjoy! Link

Well you have to get with the times. Casuals pretty much own the gaming market now...that's why Ubisoft pretty much casualized every single Tom Clancy game. Rainbow Six, Splintercell and Ghost Recon all were casualized this gen to appeal to the masses.
[QUOTE="ohioyankee"]Why do you think they're called "ghosts"?Ghost Recon is dead
SpiritOfFire117
sig worthy.
Is there any reason, beyond mass appeal, why they are completely changing every franchise they have in store?
Trailer itself looked neat though.

And then there is ARMA 2. I´m happy ;)wow with all those gadgets it seems like it'll be too cheap in your favour. How can you not win when you can blow up a tank from your shoulder without ever having to stop firing your assault rifle while invisible? why did the enemies even try? I'd be all **** that you win invisible man. I'm going home.

Well said & I completely agree. If you don't like the games now then keep quiet & stay away as no one here wants to see a bunch of whining & crying.People complain way too much about this series. If it is not a clean copy and paste job of a ten year old game then it is terrible. Rainbow Six: Vegas and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter are amazing games and feature arguably the best multi-player on consoles this gen. That live action trailer looked pretty cool; I hope to see more of it.

The PC versions of GRAW 1 and GRAW 2 certainly weren't that casualized, they may not be as difficult as old Ghost Recon, but they sure destroy the console games in terms of tatical gameplay and difficulty, then again they were by different devs not owned by Ubisfot(GRIN).Welp, Ubi's officially killed just about every Tom Clancy franchise there was...wonder what they'll destroy next.

Yeah seems like it unfortunately.

what a shame :( I dont get why they cant just put a built in casual mode for players.... kinda like Bayonetta where it takes just one button to pull off a combo on super easy mode. The first GR was one of my most favorite on-line shooters last gen. though I haven't really got into the ones that followed but I'm very interested in this one. :D
A franchise you knew and loved has had drastic changes done to it that completely destroy the original intent of prior titles and essentially turn it into a dumbed-down action game. Am I supposed to be happy with this? :roll:One might think these forums were filled with women & little children with all the whining you see here.

It is what it is. Nostalgia can carry a franchise only so far. Eventually, it has to evolve. "Dumbing down" is one perspective. "Streamlining" is another.
I'd love to see Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six go back to their roots. Some of my best gaming memories come from Rogue Spear and GRIT on the original Xbox. Honestly though, I doubt enough people would buy them nowadays to justify the cost of production.
If multiplayer is any indication, the level of tactical play lies in the hands of the players.
Problem is, with games like the new Splinter Cell and Rainbow 6 titles, the very intent of the earlier titles were destroyed. People liked the older titles for their requirements for thought-out, tactical approaches. To complain about that focus being thrown away is by no means 'whiny' or, if you're going to be sexist, 'womanly'. Do I want a game that is essentially a copy-paste job of a prior, eight year old entry? Hell no, the mechanics would seem archaic and clunky. But those mechanics can be streamlined, refined, and added to, not cut down drastically. It is what it is. Nostalgia can carry a franchise only so far. Eventually, it has to evolve. "Dumbing down" is one perspective. "Streamlining" is another.
