New Lost Odyssey Details from Famitsu

"There's an interview with Sakaguchi about Lost Odyssey in the latest Famitsu Xbox360, here are some details from 2ch posters who got the mag:

- The game is about 40 hours long, 20 hours of which are taken up by event scenes or FMV.
- The MS Briefing portion that Sakaguchi played is the first dungeon.
- The trigger timing for physical attacks can add special properties to the attack.
- Equipment-wise there's only weapon, ring and accessory.
- The encounter rate is low, instead you're supposed to grow stronger from each series of fights.
- The Dream of 1000 Years short stories are just text.
- They're presented in short 5-10 min segments of text with no voice but with BGM.
- There are 34 of these short story episodes in total.
- There will be a world map, with a vehicle to move around in it."

Yeah, my hype of the game just went down alot (still might be fun I am having a blast with Blue Dragon). Nowwe know why it on 4 DVDs.

So, the game is 40 hours total, and 20 of those are taken up by cutscenes? You'll have only 20 hrs of gameplay? Is that average for a jrpg? I doesn't seem right...farrell2k

i don't even have a 360 but i still want to play this game. Whats wrong with a lot of cutscenes? I personally think of gameplay first, story second, and graphics third. Anyone here like the Xenogears/Xenosaga series? probabaly more cutscenes than that, and those games were incrediblelegendbyname

actually the database in xenosaga 3 had hours and hours of reading material which i found interesting because it helped tie everythign together. Technically you had to "read" everything in Xenogears =D

Dude, 20 hours is too much even for a JRPG. I just think that Sakaguchi went a bit overboard on this one

You do know that yoyu can't avoid all most (if not all) of the enemies in HS right? Did you even play that game? You technically can't speed run through HS. And yes i did play multiplayer, but i can't stand it. Thats why i'm trading it in.
