I think people should read these new terms carefully, while it may not be much, there may be some wordings which i have to grasp yet but i found them interesting non the less
This topic is locked from further discussion.
@Zaibach: Yeah i guess that is in anticipation of that but what do you think about the ''resale'' bit

You'll find that on any disc based product, thats been on the back of every VHS, DVD, BLU RAY and even your games, go ahead and look at the back of your DVDs and games in your shelf or cabinet.
@Zaibach: That is interesting, i actually never knew. Does that mean we have always been violating these terms since forever?
DRM CONFIRMED!!!!
...lol just standard terms.
STANDARD? It says right there you cannot resell your game?
Oh you cows. You are getting bent over at the start of a new gen and Sony is waiting there to..............well you know.
At least MS warned us.
DRM CONFIRMED!!!!

Go read the XBL terms of use, I bet it says the same thing.
Just did. Says "thank you for agreeing to another year of great service and we will always be here for you etc. etc."

actual it doesn't say anything on XBL Terms of Use forbidding the selling of disc based software or anything close, at best it forbids re-selling of XBL services, and in the spirit of the section it mostly addresses the sale and purchasing and trading of accounts being forbidden
@Zaibach: That is interesting, i actually never knew. Does that mean we have always been violating these terms since forever?
Why do you think there was big talk of clamping down on it?
Also I think a lot of devs or publishers are gonna force DRM into the console for their games. Sony have always said they won't put any in place but publishers/devs are free to do it and it wouldn't surprise me if we start seeing it more and more as the gen goes on

Agreed, however they have to be smart about it. MS tried a very heavy handed approach that backfired massively.

Maybe the XBL terms was the thing. I wonder if its in TOU of the actual console.

Well judging around ehre they could implement the worst DRM and people would praise them for it. Sony seem to do no wrong to a lot of people
But I would imagine at first it won't be implemented a lot and it'll take that one dev to do it and show it to be a success and then more and more will start doing it. Of course I could be full of shit and it won't happen lol

Right. This could be the first step (a silent one) and Sony could enforce this slowly, over time. Then Sony could sit back and say "We actually implemented DRM way back in 2013..............".
As has been stated before, standard stuff. Hell, I even think it's because of those rules that we're not allowed to rent games over here.

I knew all along that Sony couldnt be trusted. They took it a step further by not even telling us their plans unlike MS.
Enjoy your spystations.
I have a feeling you have never read a TOSA before and you don't understand what this one is telling you.
This week will be full of desperate last minute grasping at straws by lems.

we don't have a camera watching us and then making us pay more for netflix if there are many people watching the movie.
There was a time before they changed their policies when kinect was not only obligatory but you couldn't even obstruct its line of sight if not the console would become a brick!
Huge difference dawg!
Boi this place is full of SONY SLAVES I SWEAR I NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE! LOOKS STANDARD ......ARE YOU SERIOUS? I WILL NEVER ARGUE WITH ANOTHER SONY FANBOY ON THIS FORM BECAUSE I KNOW IM TALKING TO AN INFECTED "CER" zombie
Wurd. The bullsh7t is eating their brains to the "Sony can do no wrong" level.
@FoxbatAlpha: "Without their permission".. they've probably been giving permission to gamers for who knows how long now.

So much this.
@FragTycoon: I would admit, i tend not to read most of them to be frank, i just click ''yes'' to everything but with this new systems, i want to be a bit more cautious hence why i actually read it because the new vita system update told me to re-agree with the TOU hence what prompted my curiousity to see what it was in detail

It's not saying you said it, he was replying to you hence why your name is there. It says "megaspider said"
@Infinite_Access: i cant wait to you get your ps4 and you found out SONY was keeping quiet or why they want Reviewers to use SONY ALL ACCESS to review the HARDWARE and why NO ONE will get EXTENSIVE use of the hardware UNTIL LAUNCH. PREPARE TO BE RAGING!
You're pathetic.
Yeah, I definitely can see Sony implementing DRM after the hype for the PS4 dies out and sales starts to decline. What would stop them? Consumers? They already bought their console. It's like a Devil's contract, once you're in you can't act for yourself anymore,

If people honestly think sony is out for their best interests, they're not very bright
Releases are coming up and this forum is beyond sad now. This desperation, guys... it cannot be healthy for some of you.
They're trying to tie up the loop holes for game sharing of DD titles. They left it open for most of the gen and could only half restrict it from happening with a number of downloads restriction and limitations of activations on consoles.
Fingers crossed it should convince publishers not to have such stupid prices on the store to compensate for game sharing.
