A fact is that Sony builds their systems with a long lifespan in mind; PSP wont be obsolete anytime soon. There is one on the way but not nearly as soon as most people think.

Well they did redesign their PS1 and PS2 consoles so it was only a matter of time before they did the same for the PSP.

Personally, despite the lack of great games, I thought the PSP was fine the way it was. It's not like a redesign will make much of a difference.

I agree, it's not like the GBA which was horribly flawed and needed the SP as a redesign (the Micro was going overboard though).
