Mmm. Tim Schafer is about to kick Kratos's butt! :D

Wow wow...slow down there Jimmy. I was with you till you had to throw a curve ball at Kratos like that  :PII_Seraphim_II
Dude, it's Tim Schafer! I know most youngsters here won't be aware of who he is (not stating that you're young, I know you're being sarcastic. :P). Anyways, he's responsible for Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, Psychonauts, and more! The man is legendary.

This... some of the greatest games of all time.
This game better be awesome, and it better be like 20 hours long. I still remember exact lines of Hoagie's dialogue in Day of the Tentacle. Classic.
By the way big ups on the backhanded diss of God of War, it really ups your cred when you praise "fringe" games and criticize mainstream ones. ;)
No need for that. Let's just celebrate the greatness of Tim Schafer.
Looks mediocre.

Hey, whatever, you're free to your opinion. :) You gave The Last Remnant for 360 a 10, though. :o
I approve of this post 100%, his games are pretty out there from the norm.I'm pushing for TS on this one. He deserves a big hit.His games have an abundance of wit, and style that is very unique in the industry.
Godspeed dude and props to EA for bringing this out.

Sadly, judging by most comments, it looks like this one is destined to go down the same path as his previous titles.:(

:D This game will own anyone saying it looks bad or whatever. It's gonna be the awesome sauce, the bees knees.
Wow, that looks incredibly awesome.
Also, the character/enemy design just looks fantastic. Seriously, it's nice to see some original characters with all the space marines and shaved heads going around.
"17:01: When Eddie and Ophelia reach a gigantic gate, the demo then transitions into the first boss fight -- against a giant lamprey. I'm sorry to say this yet again, but this is essentially a cool, heavy metal rendition of something like the Hydra fight in God of War. Though, this battle is mostly car-based, as Eddie has to wisely use nitro and handbrakes to maneuver The Deuce around the arena, and trick the lamprey into latching its tongue onto the ground. When it's stuck, Eddie repeatedly rams The Deuce at the tongue until it's detached -- which Eddie follows up with a quip about noticing that the lamprey has some sort of lisp when it's roaring. Eddie completes the boss battle by hopping out of The Deuce and performing the Earthshaker power chord at the right time to drop some counter-weights that then force a giant door to close on the lamprey. Apparently, Schafer can't shake the LucasArts influence, as it reminds me a lot of how Luke defeats the Rancor in Return of the Jedi.
22:02: At this point, the world of Brütal Legend officially opens up. When Eddie drives past the gate and then gazes onto the landscape, Schafer comments, "This is the kind of thing you'd see if you bought a heavy metal album and opened up the gatefold to see the mural inside." Robson points out that the overworld is about 64 square kilometers (8km by 8km). One of the major collect-a-thon aspects of Brütal Legend is the music; scattered throughout the overworld are songs you can play on The Deuce's radio -- these range from cIassic metal to new bands that Schafer and the team like a lot as well. For the demo, rather than aimlessly drive around, Eddie drives onto the town of Bladehenge, the center of the human resistance against Emperor Doviculus and future headquarters of Eddie's assembled army." - 1UP
Soooo, God of War + GTA + Banjo-like collecting of music, which you can listen to in your vehicle as you ride around the world + Lemmy Kilmister + Ronnie James Dio + Rob Halford + other rock legends + Jack Black + an electric guitar as a primary weapon + a world that blends heavy metal into absolutely everything.
Oh dear god, I'm in heaven.
Same developers who made Psychonauts, I'm hyped and it's AA for me.

Even though Psychonauts was a "AA" game...do you remember the debate in 2004? New franchises versus old franchises? Pyschonauts couldn't catch a break during the fall simply because San Andreas, Half-Life 2, World of Warcraft, and Halo 2 came out. The industry has always considered Psychonauts to be one of the most underrated games especially since it was going against so many well known sequels. I remember that year very well.
The only game I've played from Tim Schafer is Psychonauts. I never actually finished that game (got really far, but my save file corrupted and I didn't want to play through it again, although I plan to eventually), but I loved what I played of that. If this is anywhere near as good as that was, I'll be happy. :)
The idea looks really interesting, and I love how it plays off of the whole metal theme for pretty much everything. Seems like fun, I just hope it lives up to my expectations.

Yeah, that year sure did have some AAA sequels that I played, it was tough for Psychonauts to stand out from the crowd during that time. I did play Psychonauts and it's still a shame that it didn't get much attention. This is probably the first Tim Schafer game I'm not interested in. I don't like the Guitar Hero art style and the presence of Jack Black is just horrifying. The concept steers away from originality and veers more towards bizarre stupidity. Now where is Psychonauts 2?

In the hope that noobs would understand why so many of us old school gamers are looking forward to the game. It would be a dream come true though to get them to make at least one more Monkey Island.

Not at all. If you're a fan of classic metal, then you're aware that this represents it. Listen to Manowar - Kings of Metal.

Now where is Psychonauts 2?NAPK1NSPsychonauts lost a lot of money...I don't think we will see a sequal any time soon. Just because I though it was funny here is TS talking about why the game was only on the Xbox Q: Why didn't you make Psychonauts for the GameCube? Do you hate Nintendo? And if that's true, what's your address, because I'm coming over to kill you right now. I'm going to show you my Pokemans, and it will be the last thing you ever see. TS: Settle down, fanboy. No one loves Nintendo more than me (well, maybe this guy). Most of my all time favorite games are Nintendo games. I have touched Shigeru Miyamoto with my bare hands!!! (He was very soft and pleasant.) Double Fine would love to make something for Nintendo's fine machine, but it's not up to us. It's the publisher's money, so they get to decide what platform to invest in. In other words, IT'S NOT OUR FAULT! I personally would have loved to make Psychonauts for the Game Cube. (Well, not literally me personally. I would have loved to tell someone else to make it, and I would have loved to watch them do it, and I would have loved yelling, "Faster! Faster!" as they worked.) I really hope we get a chance to make a game for the Wii some day. Why don't you spam your favorite publisher with mail right now and ask them to send us money to make a Wii game? (And a little extra money for a pool table?)

Double Fine's 'Psychopedia' has an entry for Psychonauts 2
Well, what do we have here? An article about something that does not exist? An article full of hopes and dreams? Yes this is an article about Psychonauts 2, the Unicorn of videogames. In this game, we follow our young protaginist as he does stuff. Psychic stuff. After doing Psychic stuff, he fights things, finds things, goes into things, goes out of things, eats things, drinks things, learns things, knows things, rescues things, and saves things. If only I could be more descriptive… *sigh*

I had no idea that all of the stereotypes of metal music was a good representation. Interesting. But thanks, BioShockOwnz for telling me why my thoughts on the game are wrong. I have been teaching myself how to use the 2d verison of the game engine he used to make thoughs games.
