New spider-game just announced ! Spider-man Edge Of time swings this fall!

After doing a fine job withSpider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, developer Beenox is taking another swing (see what we did there?) at our favorite webhead inSpider-Man: Edge of Time, due out this fall on unannounced platforms.

InEdge of Time, Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 will work together to avoid personal catastrophe (read: Peter Parker's demise) in a story crafted by 2099 co-creator Peter David. The game's hook is that the actions of one Spider-Man will alter the timeline of the other.

This, of course, is the moment where we point out that Marvel 2099 is technically the future of Earth-928 and not Earth-616, where Spider-Man exists. Therefore, the actions of one wouldn't impact the other, so we're hoping some sort of interdimensional machinations will be involved as well.

I am very excited for this , after the great work Beenox did with shattered dimensions , and the two best spider-men of that game are included in this one , i just wish for more variety this time.

cant read, bad font color. the default color scheme for gamestop logged in is charcoal...and your font is the same color so yea....you're forcing people to change their background color to read your 1 topic. thats pretty selfish imo :P

back on topic, idk...i think im getting tired of spiderman games. I think ive owned every one so far and I wish they would do a GOOD open world one. Shattered dimensions was cool but it was VERY repedative...(start mission fight boss 3 times, watch cutscene). I want a GOOD open world spiderman game that looks great, feels great and isnt repedative...one could wish right?

I'm playing shattered dimensions now and its "ok." I'm hoping Spider Man can return to its open world nature like in Spider Man 2.

shattered dimensions was terrible and that gives me very little hope for this title.

Web of shadows was god AWFUL.

Will probably be average/bad just like all other Spider-Man games.. Until Rocksteady makes a Spider-Man, color me uninterested.

I only played the first 2 last gen ones that were open world, and I remember them being pretty fun. Oh man this reminds me, I have Batman AA to play through still! Too many good games :P.

Neversoft needs to make a new Spider-man game. I loved the original PSone/N64 spider-man game. It's been downhill since that.

About time someone made a good spiderman game and not just another half assed effort (shattered dimensions, spiderman 3, etc....) Hopefully this one will be good, i mean it cant be that hard can it.

spider man shattered dimensions was a great spider man game. So I have faith for this one.

Why so much hate for shattered dimension? It doesint need to be open world to be great. I dont want to save balloons or deliever pizza.

Can you explain how shattered was half assed? 4 different spidys to play each with very different looks in both character and enviroments.

Why so much hate for shattered dimension? It doesint need to be open world to be great. I dont want to save balloons or deliever pizza.

Well, that's because the movie games had to well... follow the movies to a certain degree. But in games like WoS, they don't have that restrcition and while the game glitches and freezes like crazy, the story is very enjoyable.

You reaalyshould try it if you liked the movie games.

Only one I give you is sandman cause sometimes I had trouble finding the face. Besides that the other 2 bosses were not a problem at all.

God damnit, is it that hard to make a Good Spiderman Game?

1.) Good controls and CAMERA are needed. Web Swining should be fun, the fighting mechanics should be good, etc.

2.) Create a compelling city. A city with Easter Eggs, Collectibles, and Landmarks (from comics and real life, ala FF4 building)

3.) Good storyline. (IMO, it'd be nice to see a game with different arcs. Such as Clone Saga, Maximum Carnage, etc.)

4.) Lots of side quests

5.) Maybe pop in some cameos of Human Torch, Wolverine, Black Widow etc.

Use the Ultimate Universe, Classic Universe, 2099, etc. but just make the game good and free roam possible, please.

It's a shame we can't get a proper Spider-Man game this gen. Spider-Man 2 was one of my favorite games last gen and really gave you the sense of being Spider-Man. All these new Spider-Man games are just terrible.

Please Treyarch come back and give us a TRUE next gen Spider-Man! :cry:
