New Spin w/ Logic: Why the Halo Franchise owns!

1.) Halo has the weakest story I've ever seen...

2.) Halo is the most cliched and derivative FPS I've ever seen.

3.) Halo Wars seems kind of counter to your argument. 

It's only been out 6 years... and Halo wars IS coming out... give it time.. they'll milk it plenty... ecspecially if they stick to making it a trilogy... (which I doubt... TBH... they might make a new marathon or somthing  before Halo 4... but I expect to see it eventually)

FF didnt have any spinoffs for along time... Resident evil didnt for 5 years... Mario didnt untill SNES... They wont be abandoning the namebrand of Halo anytime soon...

2. Halo Wars is after the original Halo trilogy and Master Chief is not the central character

It's all a matter of opinion. I'm a HUGE Halo fan; I've read the novels, played the games, done everything, and I think the story is simply amazing. It seems shallow at first (LOL SPACE MARINE LOL) but is indeed quite deep, with hundreds of characters and locales, each and every one unique. 

But yeah, I agree, they haven't milked the game yet, but I certianly hope they do, to be honest. I'd buy anything with Halo on the cover :P

Actually, its before the trilogy. 

Solid Snake isn't in Portable Ops. You're Big Boss. So passing on that doesn't take away from anything in Solid Snake's story. (I'll give you Ac!d but as far as I know the stories aren't really related between Ac!d and MGS)

2.) Acid isn't exactly part of the Metal Gear canon in the same manner Halo Wars isn't according to your logic.

3.) Halo Wars still counters your arguement of spinoffs. Unless it's cancelled...

It is appealing because it is pick-up-and-play "gun porn" with a "fantastical" story and one-dimensional characters that are simple to connect with.foxhound_fox

I think he means it hasent been milked up to this point. Halo Wars doesnt count untill its released.
