LoL, that trailer was Terrible, I literally laughed at that guy coming on the screen, he might as well said "All your base are belong to us". This title looked a Lot better before, now it looks like an AA maybe.
Oh and what the heck is G?
Exactly. The voice acting is terrible, the story looks uninteresting. Even the Gameplay looked uninteresting and last gen especially for an Action RPG. If it's between FFXIII Versus and this, there ain't no comparison, I don't even have to watch Gameplay of Versus to know it's going to be better than this game. The third one was .1 off 8, and it was a great game, while if the first one came out here and was scored at the time, it would have easily been an AA for its time as well. As a fan, every single title has felt AAA for me, with the exception of first departure since it is just a remake of an old RPG, but for its time, its defiantly up there. I'm hyping SO4 at least AA, unless they(Gamespot) screw it up like SO3.Star Ocean is an A (Good) franchise, so I'm sticking with the majority A hype on this one.

It isn't a action RPG, that would be something like Fable... this is on the lines of SO3 and Tales of Vesparia combat. Still arena based combat. Also they have updated the combat a lot since the PS2 version. I don't care what this scores because I'll be getting it no matter what. I loved all the past ones and I'm sure this won't dissappoint either.
There's just something wrong with SO4. I mean the game looks kiddy, it has a very child friendly art style to it, but it's the voices which make me want to rip my ears off. The voices and the dialogue do not go well together.
I'm gonna have to avoid this.

Take a look at the link and tell me what genre it's apart of. I know what an action RPG is and this the SO series is apart of them. Though the best I think has been the KH franchise which the dev team is currently developing FFXIII Vs. hence my point.

I stand corrected:P But my other point still stands, a lot has been updated to the combat system compared to last gen. They added in another element that wasn't there in the SO3 making the combat system a little more dynamic then before. What makes it look so last gen that you claim it is?

Still, even as an action RPG, its not the same kind you would compare to like FFversusXIII, and yeah, they did seem to improve the combat quite a bit in some areas, probably not noticeable to others, who may not have played SO3, but there is defiantly an improvement, and wow IGN got the score for SO3 right on the head. :P] Still, even as an action RPG, its not the same kind you would compare to like FFversusXIII, and yeah, they did seem to improve the combat quite a bit in some areas, probably not noticeable to others, who may not have played SO3, but there is defiantly an improvement, and wow IGN got the score for SO3 right on the head. :P110million
To those that say it is last gen
"The basics of the battle are the same, but the system has been enhanced. Compared to the previous version, in which the motion was two-dimensional, now with the option to jump, a sense of depth is added to the battle movements in Star Ocean: The Last Hope. Other than that, new systems such as Rush and Blindside are now included, adding to the overall battle experience. "
Which will greatly change how it was played... last gen...
At the trailer.
Seriously this game will be probably get an A.
- The story is probably going to be horrible.
- The Voice-acting is pathetic.
- The characters are most likely cliched and stupid.
The only decent to good thing about the game will be its combat system. And I coud be wrong about that.
You might as well save yourself some money and pick up Ninja Gaiden Black or Ninja Gaiden II.

And I have to agree, I mean I liked what a few RPGs did after, but in terms of action-oriented RPG combat, it was the best IMO, Tales titles come close, but they are just far, far too easy to compare, SO3 wasn't particularly challenging but it had some tough fights, something I've never experianced in any other action-rpg that comes to mind.
So since they improve it even furthur, I'm definatly excited.

Well it may have changed a little bit, but who knows, I still don't think it's that big of an improvement from SO3 which I have played quite abit.[QUOTE="spinecaton"][QUOTE="110million"]] Still, even as an action RPG, its not the same kind you would compare to like FFversusXIII, and yeah, they did seem to improve the combat quite a bit in some areas, probably not noticeable to others, who may not have played SO3, but there is defiantly an improvement, and wow IGN got the score for SO3 right on the head. :PDelsage

Well it may have changed a little bit, but who knows, I still don't think it's that big of an improvement from SO3 which I have played quite abit.Adding in a new element such as jumping isn't a big enough change? So now you can do aerial combos and dodge attacks by jumping where you had to stafe before is not enough? There is just no pleasing some of you people, what would make it "next gen" to you? When you are adding in a new way to attack and dodge seems like a big improvement to me compared to what it was.
woot this game looks so tight i just hope the voice acting is better than SO3 lol
and for that dude that said FF13 versus is going to be better this isnt an action rpg like that.. >_>
and since the orignal people of FF have left to mae mistwalker FF games have been on a downfall.. unless u like that FF12 didnt have the FF feel to it and FF13 looks like it wont either. looks like itll be just another normal rpg. i mean shiva is a effin motorcycle in that game.. >_>
star ocean will be the best 360 exclusive rpg im hoping. cant wait :)
I'm willing to look past the really bad voice acting and the crappy character design because lets be honest most JRPGs this gen fail in both aspects. Just hope the overall game is a good and not infinite undiscovery calibur.Dahaka-UKi like the characer anime designs does that make me bad person ?
