Obviously the consolites don't have and idea about this game. It's going to be epic. And the creator is one of the greatest game designers ever.
He stated that games like World of Warcraft are the best MMOs in what he calls the '1st generation' of MMORPGs. This game is supposed to be the beginning of the '2nd generation'. Epic stuff.
I've been playing the beta for a little over 2 months now. It's an awesome game. The combat system is not like other MMO's its more 3rd person almost gears of war aiming style for lack of better term. The story line rocks, and Lord British is one of the greatest Developers and has been active in the chats asking what we like and don't like about the game. Fixes have been made per requests. This game will be eating up so much of my time for the years to come.
Apparently this MMO is throwing everthing I hate about MMo's out the window. The grind, the repetitiveness, the lack of roleplaying, the slow boring combat....all done away with.
I feel real sorry for Richard Garriot. He's invested so many years into this IP, and yet he can't seem to realize that the time of its conception is so disimilar from its (allegedly) forseeable release.
Not only is the idea repetitive, but MMOs not originating from single-player games just don't survive. Perhaps it would have made it 10-12 years ago, when he first thought it up, but there's no chance it'll make it now.

If you get into the beta just makes sure you don't leak any info because Lord British will hunt you down, kidnap you and hide you in one of the secret rooms in his haunted mansion. Just a warning, he took my neighbor.

:lol: Yeah I wouldn't doubt it. I just got my key and I'm downloading the client right now. Let's see if this can get me into MMO's. Guild Wars was fun for a while. I only made 1 character and it was fun while it lasted I guess. Let's hope this game changes MMO's.

I loved PvP in Guild Wars until the metagame went to h*ll.... now it is just bad. Always hundreds of teams running the same exact thing. Oh well...
I might be looking into it just for the sole reason that it doesn't use that horrid hit-a-number-key-to-auto-attack combat system that most MMOGs use, and instead opts for a more FPS-style combat system. As for Richard Garriott/Lord British, I can't say that I have much experience with any of his previous titles, though I'm working to remedy this by playing though the Master System version of Ultima IV. (Not exactly an easy game, though, especially when typical powergaming tricks like opening every chest you see, slaughtering fleeing enemies for experience(and they flee a LOT), and shortchanging the reagent seller will make it nigh-impossible to complete the game. I'm also about to rip my hair out as far as getting my hands on some Mandrake Root to Resurrect that one dying wizard guy in the Mage city...)
