I'm glad, but not excited. Would've preferred a remaster of the trilogy even though the first one kinda sucks.
Awesome.
As someone who was a fan of the TimeSplitters trilogy, this makes me very happy.
Ah that's great. What was your favourite aspect of them??
Hmmm, should be developed by Dambuster, but they are working on Dead Island 2 (oh God).

You can play the second one in 4K on PC right now.

So many things to talk about.
First I always loved how the levels of the games always takes place in different time eras and themes where you fight a huge variety of enemies (One minute you fight different types of human enemies such as soldiers, terrorists, gangs etc, and then you even fight non humans enemies like for example aliens, robots, and the undead) Plus different types of weapons from each different themes to use.
And when it comes to the TimeSplitters series, they had one of the best multiplayer for any fps. Not only was it fun to play with others, but the games had bot support as well. They also have a huge variety of different multiplayer modes and a big lineup of different characters to play.
And they had the best feature for any multiplayer fps game which is you can make your own maps by yourself and play them. My favorite multiplayer was in TimeSplitters: Future Perfect because it had online multiplayer and you can play other people's custom maps by downloading them. It was amazing back then. And the co-op for singleplayer was also great.
The TimeSplitters games were definitely one of the most unique first person shooters series in my opinion.
The lack of excitement in here disturbs me. This is like one of my dreams come true. Hope it'll be good!
Edit: Well.. not that disturbing. They haven't even started working on the game yet. So.. 2-3 years before I get to play it then, I guess. I really fucking hate when devs announce their game before they've even started.
I'd have to see the new game before I judge whether or not I am interested. Many, if not most new games in an old series like that rarely live up to the hype or gameplay of the original.
Very true. Nice to hear that some veterans from the old games are back though. Hopefully, they haven't lost track of why TimeSplitters was fun, like so many other devs who resurrect a series.

It's why I am not eager for the upcoming Perfect Dark. The developers have no idea why people liked Perfect Dark and it looks like they're just creating some kind of generic over the top movie genre on top of that IP when much of Perfect Dark was anything but serious. Joanna's personality alone being somewhat childish and sarcastic, never at all serious.
Talk about burying the lede. Apparently FreeRadical design has actually been reformed and resurrected.
I never played the originals. Do I need to? I actually think I own them...
Never played the first game, and that's probably a bit too old to be much fun. I played TS2 on GC a lot, and have heard TS3 is awesome as well. I highly recommend checking them out if you want a better GoldenEye with great humor.

There's timesplitters rewind, it's made by fans and it's gonna be exactly that.

Yeah, but I don't want to wait for fan made stuff. Especially since it might get taken down.

I'm sure I remember reading they had the go-ahead from Crytek or something a while back, I could be wrong though.
I remember wanting to try that series back in the Gamecube days but never got around to it. This news doesn't do much to me.
Awesome. Some of the people who made Goldeneye 64 worked on timesplitters that is why they are so similar. I could see a game like Timesplitters being full of microtransactions if if was to be released today.
I actually had one of the highest scores globally in the behead the undead challenge in Timesplitters 2.
Never played timesplitters because not on PC. and from what i have seen it feel like cartoonish shooter where you shoot monkeys.

Could be, actually. The Tomb Raider 2 remake has this "just don't profit and we won't dmca your ass" thing going on.
These games felt like an inferior goldeneye/perfect dark to me
I felt the opposite. Felt so much more fun.
There are so many reasons why this could end up sucking, but I'm still happy TS4 is getting made. The original devs have wanted to do this for so long, and they kept getting shafted. That they're finally being given a chance is fantastic, and I am going to spend the next few years hoping for the best.
@ghosts4ever: Wait. Are you calling it "a cartoonish shooter where you shoot monkeys" like that's a bad thing?

Reminds me of Deathloop
That reminds me whatever happened to that TimeSplitters game that was being developed by one of Crytek's divisions I think their UK one.
