several years ago played Tomb Raider II. stupid.djedi_masteryeah i think that is the only one i have played as well. Didn't make me interested in the series.
Didn't some magazine give it 4.5?
Anyway, I haven't liked the TR series since PS1 glory days. There are superior action platformers out there these days.
Been a fan of TR games...however, I have to admit that my interests in the series started going downhill after angel of darkness...and even more so with every release after it...I had some hopes for this one, but after finding out more and more about it I'm finding it hard to care.verbalfilth
Well, I guess there's not much hope of you being satasfied so long as Crystal Dynamics keeps trying to improve things, because the series pretty much became trash with Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, and didn't start being fun again until Tomb Raider Legend and Anniversary. Do keep in mind that Angel of Darkness was one of the most disappointing PS2 games ever, and that Crystal Dynamics pretty much brought Tomb Raider back from the dead with Legend.

I've played and finished all tomb raiders available (save for TR:U), my main problem is that crystal dynamics, although great devs, have completely taken the tomb raider concept and catered more to action than puzzles (I personally consider puzzles as the heart of the tomb raider series) and this dissapoints me extremely. Have you played TR: Legend? That game practically had no puzzles, and what little of puzzles they implemented, were easily solved.I'm sorry, but even though crystal dynamics are trying, they're completely steering it somewhere else...the only Tomb raider game they worked on nicely was Anniversary, and that was just a remake of the first game with slight additions here and there.
I thought Lara Croft was dead? also never been a fan of the series and never really saw the appeal to it (besides the obvious of the main character, see Grandma's Boy for further details). I'm not interested and never really saw anything on it, I played through TR Revolutions on the Dreamcast and messed around abit with the Saturn games and Playstation games (even PC once or twice) but never found any joy in it.
Guess this new game is good for the hard core fans but I don't see it drawing anyone new in with the slew of a great games out there (for those of you who don't own Left 4 Dead shame on you).
Huge Tomb Raider fan here. You new gen kids just don't understand the significance Lara has in the video game world. Without her, video games of today would not have been the same.Â
Underworld may just be the best Tomb Raider yet :D

I know how you feel, because Legend did honestly suck as a TR game. But if you've seen the Underworld videos, and played the demo, and seen the story, you should have the utmost faith in Crystal Dynamics, because they're bringing back what made the original games so great.Â
It's heavily platform/puzzle-based, and when there's action, it's usually action mixed with something else. The previous TR games had you platforming and fighting separately. This one integrates them together. Honestly, this looks insane.
I downloaded the demo a while ago but have yet to try it. The Tomb Raider styIe of platforming is getting dated and tired. And with Mirror's Edge in my 360 I doubt I will have much interest in actually trying the demo.foxhound_fox
Mirror's Edge honestly feels like the old platforming formula stuck in a first person view. It's fairly linear, has simple combat mechanics (reminiscent of Lara's auto-aim/infinite ammo pistols) and requires the utmost precision and accuracy in the way you conduct yourself around the video game world (Falling to your death is something Lara Croft fans have known for many years  ). I think this is what was touched on in many of the reviews, that state that whilst it breaks new ground, it retains some old school gameplay mechanics that define 90's platforming.
