WTF is the whole deal with that Norwegian Goblin mockumentairy nonsense?.. are they trying to create a fake reality to hype this game?

I think it had more to do with putting Too Human's story into perspective. So many games deal with a cyclical universe (most recently Mass Effect) but rarely do they have any sort of emotional impact, possibly beause they usually involve futuristic/fantasy settings. The video puts the idea of a cyclical universe into a very real and understandable setting, and as a result (at least for me), even at only ~5 minutes long it had a greater emotional impact than the majority of games.

the perspective is mythology.. but now they want to make mythology real....
I think it's pretty cool, the game is based on norse mythology and the old guy was reading a passage from the old "Edda's", which are basically like the heathen bibles, and you should read them, some very good stories in there, although the rest of the video was about some kind of cyclical universe and a mechanical goblin or something, didn't find it very interesting.
Fun fact: the old man was speaking old norse, and modern Icelandic is basically just an evolved version of it, and being Icelandic, I could understand most of what he was saying :D but if a modern icelander could go back in time a 1000 years or so, he could probably understand most of what people then would say, but the people of that time probably wouldn't understand him :P end of lesson.... but i'm looking forward to this game!

no they want people to be open to the idea that mythology could be based (somewhat) on reality.....

yeah.... no, they want to make us believe it was BASED on reality. everyone is allready open to the idea that there might be fundaments in reality.
So because S.K., by trying all along to build on the age old Myths of Norse and have built a game based on those Myths they have been trying to put out more & more info about Norse to give context to the RPG elements - it is a WTF are they doing to you - hmm.
Seems like you just wanted something negative to say about the game to me - which is your prerogative but I find it odd.
Though no matter as it remains my most anticipated game for 2008 and should it deliver on all fronts, you should find a game that goes much Deeper then just skin deep in the RPG elements.
Add into the mix the awesome looking/sounding game-play structure and well, that is why is has been my 360 GOTY pick for a long time now - me = can't friggin wait to the game hits the street ! :D
Don't poke the Bear man. ;)
I think this game will flop, doesn't look too good to me.EuroMafia
i'm afraid i agree... i still want it to be great.. but i doubt it..

How can you say that, the game looks awesome, and is going to be awesome.
it doesn't look awsome at all. all the animations are cluncky, the combat is cluncky... the graphics are .. well okay..
the best thing it has going is that there will be no load times (but huge elevator rides i guess..) and it has a very deep RPG element.
But they never succeeded in hyping me because there was always something missing in those games and trailers.. i
And again, i hope it WILL be great.. i just think it will be a jack of all trades master of none
Doesn't look exciting to me. I'm glad they trying something new though. Maybe in the end it will all workout.
