@goldenelementxl: first off, you keep trying to claim I'm saying they are not competing when I've clearly said they are competing for your time and money just like ANY company is going to compete for your time and money.. I literally said, "I agree" on that point so not sure why you're still pretending you can't read..
Secondly, you literally stated "the console war isn't dead" and proceeded to try and back up that claim with clear evidence that the console war is indeed dead..
You keep saying it's "evolved" as if that doesn't mean the very concept is any less outdated.. If all the traditional rules of how the "console wars" were fought and measured have changed (or "evolved"), the traditional idea of a console war is dead.. One company doesn't even have exclusives anymore.. That same company doesn't need you to buy a console anymore.. It's not console wars anymore when "exclusives" and "console sales" aren't even key factors for one of the main players..
Now, if you want to debate on what it is now and/or where it's going, fine.. I'm calling it "ecosystem wars" though that doesn't quite have the same ring to it.. But when the very companies involved have publicly said they've left direct "console war" competition, it's time to move on from that concept..
