It's looking pretty good...too bad I'll be getting the inferior Wii U version. Gonna get the Switch later this year. Holiday season.

ALSO: Those are true bullshots...look like the UC4 ones. But that doesn't mean the game will be bad. Except if there are dips on the framerate. There better not be many issues on either console.

Bullshots? No bullshots, those are from the Switch version. Check at 0:55 in this video and you will see the weather with thunder in action, looks really nice.

lol that video belongs in the official hype thread. its magical. i remember arguing with Char back in 2014 about the grass in the unveil trailer. I kept saying this isn't possible on the WiiU but he didn't believe it. Not only is it not possible on the WiiU, its not even possible on their next gen platform...

@silversix_: Will the grass really matter if the game is amazing. The art style does wonders for how this game looks and while it won't win any awards for graphics I'm sure it'll win tons for its gameplay.

Lets wait and see if Nintendo is accurate with the description. SS is still fresh in my memory with its barren and lackluster whatever you call it where you flew on the bird with almost no where to go.

If the game is as detailed and engrossed as it is made out to be, Nintendo will have a slam on its hands.

One last thing: Still clips or full videos of Nintendo games never translate well online but usually look much better in person.

If this quote came from Nintendo, I'd still be skectical but this is from Game Informer impressions, which makes me more optimist. They shoudn't be biased.... I think. :P Tho yeah we'll have to wait and see ourselves.

About your last point, very true but I still thought the editing was funny. and won't distract my enjoyment from the game one bit.

I think Nioh looks better.

Reading the complaints about graphics, but then sees constant complaints about the state of AAA gaming staying safe. LOL

less is never better. if the game is already great, with better visuals it would've been only better, not worse.

@silversix_: agreed but if the game is a great game regardless of visuals, gamers will still enjoy it.

The switch being a hybrid requires some concessions to be made. I'll be using it primarily as a console, but my pro and eventually Scorpio will cover me when it comes to games that are visually demanding. For gamers that will use this as their go to for handheld gaming BotW will be the best looking handheld game of all time. So the perspective matters more for the Switch than any other console before it.

Also if graphics mattered that much everyone should just build PCs.

I was kinda joking when I said that, just messing with silversix.

But ya know what? I actually do think Zelda looks better now that I think about it. Of course art style is so subjective, no point in arguing that. But Nioh in action mode looks like mud. I can't remember the last time I played a game with such poor image quality. Plenty of WiiU games look better than Nioh.

Nioh looks brilliant and crisp in the cutscenes, the way most Team Ninja games would look during gameplay. But then you get in the game and some aspects don't even look as good as 2007's Ninja Gaiden Sigma. In many ways Nioh is comparable to 2008's Ninja Gaiden 2 visually. But unlike Nioh, both of these games performed excellently aside from one particular section in NG2 (the epic stairway), and maintained a much cleaner image quality.

All of this being inconsequential, Nioh is a great game and that's what really matters. But it kinda looks like shit tbh. Maybe movie mode gives it a significant face lift? Probably. But seeing as the action mode doesn't even perform too well, I don't want to attempt the movie mode.

Looks good to me. Some of the screens look more washed out I think due to the weather in game. Some times it's clear, some times the fog sets in places.

I thought I've seen pics of places in different times and weather and the washed out look was gone depending on those factors. Could be placebo but I dunno.
