Next AAAA

So the rest of 2010 has 5 huge exclusives coming out, quite evenly split between the 4 platforms. Which one of these do you think has the best chance at getting AAAA?

Personally I hope SC2 get AAAA, but Halo actually has best track record on GS, while SC has the worst.

nah Starcraft 2 probably won't get AAAA, the first game has a metacritic of 88

I see LBP2 being AAAAE simply because it improves so much upon LBP1. The main complaint about LBP1 was that gameplay didn't vary that much ...... this time you can create gameplay. Nonstop-Madness

Well thats been changed in 2, from how much gravity there is to a playable 2D camera.

Oh and yeah i voted for LBP2, altough i can see them docking points for being "more of the same" it adds so much to the formula that i cant imagine it scoring under 9.5.

i only see starcraft 2 having a chance, simply because LBP didnt nail the platforming gameplay, and now they are going for many types of gameplay..

if they couldnt do 1 right, how will they try to do lots?

I reckon LBP2 has the best chance, followed closely by GT5 and then possibly Halo:Reach (its so vastly improved on Halo 3 and is so feature rich, that I firmly believe it can't get less than 9.5).

I just realized we're getting 3 games that are probably the most feature rich in their respective genres (on consoles anyway) around the same time, 2010 is turning out to be an awesome year.

No more this year I don't think, they would have to be SMG2 standards or better and they would have to top Mass Effect 2 for that matter. I think the next chance at a AAAA we have coming up will be Zelda SS, it looks like they have really nailed the controls this time.

360 - Halo: Reach will be the 360's last chance at an AAAAE title.

PS3 - Nothing on the horizon if The Last Guardian comes out and is just mind blowing maybe but not likely.

Wii - Nothing on the horizon as I doubt there will be another 3D Mario games this generation.

Of the ones in the poll only Reach and LBP2 have even a glimmer of hope.

And yes its not like people will be forced to play the different possible genres in LBP, if you only like platforming then you can only do platforming levels and in LBP2 they'll be better than ever, in fact with the amount of options available in it, SMB could possibly be completely emulated (as opposed to the fun but poor efforts to do it in LBP).

I actually think that of any game, Civ 5 has the greatest chance. Every civ game has been AAA here, and this is easily the biggest overhaul the Civ franchise has gone through in a while.

Halo Reach and GT5 seem like the most likely options. I'm going to give the vote to GT5, because of its supposed superiority over Forza 3.

I'm thinking it will be The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Halo has a shot, Starcraft, I don't think so, LBP and GT5 could NEVER be AAAAE. EVER.charizard1605

Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty has a good chance, even being a RTS and a PC-only game. It will have an amazing ~30 mission campaign with a great story, characters, situations and cutscenes, a long lasting perfectly balanced multiplayer with constant updates, an amazing original soundtrack, beautiful visuals and a powerful editor that allows you to create a entire new game with it.

I'm going to have to disagree with this, the wii has a quite a few titles that could be AAAA, epic mickey, kirby's epic yarn, and Zelda Skyward sword, also Gears 3 could have a chance at being AAAA.

Kirby's gonna have to get an AAA before the possibility of it getting an AAAA can be taken seriously.

Zelda SS is probably the Wii's best chance at another AAAA.

Deus Ex 3, although neither of the first two scored well here at GS. (How the original Deus Ex didn't get at least AAA I don't know!) Epic Mickey has a chance too. (Yes I'm a Warren Spector fan)

Replace Metroid with None of the above because it really isn't going to be AAAAE. If it does... Well I'll eat my hat.:P

The others well GT5 & LBP2 I really see only getting a 8.5 - 9.5 really while both Stacraft 2/Halo Reach look amazing despite me not being a fan of either, I see those 2 games get AAAAE but then again it's highly unlikely as well.

Starcraft 2.... Starcraft 1 is considered onethe of the best rts's and games ever made.. Its within Gamespots hall of fame.. And from what I have seen of Starcraft 2 its basically Starcraft 1 on steroids with a far more involved singleplayer, and a very powerful map editor.. Its a win win..

I don't think any of those games will be AAAA. If TLG gets done as it should, now there we might have a winner...

Starcraft 2.

Should have amazing multiplayer, works on old to new systems, not messing with what made sc1 great (unlike C&C franchise of late and seeing other franchises like Supreme Commander consolize and kill the pc fans) and the game split up into 3 isn't anything new (see sins of a solar empire, spore, some of the command and conquers, etc etc etc). I just love how crazy the map editor is. People just from the beta got map editors to do things like this Metal SLug Starcraft 2.

Halo Reach I believe will get a 9.5-10. Little bit on hype but for console players it is bringing some good stuff to the table when it comes to classes and special abilities. Still not sure on single player but knowing GS and how they thought keep a standard of review protocols (see new Transformers), I expect the they will look past the single player aspect of the game and not detriment a short single player or substandard AI etc etc like they have done for other fps games that aren't hyped.

GT5 i'm thinking a 9.0. Game is just coming out way to late. Many global players have already got to experience a barriage of racing games since GT4 so the expectations will far outseed what GT5 delivers.

Little Big planet 2 doesn't feel like its gonna bring anything new to the table but who knows. Its really a oddball on how reviewers see it.

Metriod other M i'm leaning to a 9.0. Outside of the new mario, GS has constantly seemed to be a minimum of .5 off on scores with many of them chastising a game on "graphics. Might see though, maybe one of the GS editors has finally opened himself to the Wii with this barrage of 3rd party and 1st party exclusives this year.

I mean really they are adding/improving so much.

Pulling over of old LBP1 levels (so 2+ million levels off the bat)

Progamable buttion layout

Move integration (plan on making air hockey game :P)

2d overhead

sackbots

new tools

cutsceens

linking of levels (make whole games)

LBP2 integrated website (my biggest complaint about 1, finding levels I wanted to play)
