[QUOTE="Ninja-Vox"]

[QUOTE="ninjaxams"] so I'm ingorant because I stated ppl with overly thick accents are difficult to understand? gimme a ******* break. carljohnson3456

You're ignorant because you claimed their customer service was "a joke" because you were connected to an indian person, as opposed to a standard-english speaker. Not because you received poor service; not because the guidance was unclear; simply because you - at the very most - had to pay a little more attention because the person was indian. God forbid.

I'm not racist, nor is this comment. This customer service is a joke. Dont be calling anyone racist because they cant understand them. Dont use racism to make your precious 360 look better, because that is all your doing. "Your racist, there customer support is GREAT, so is the RROD."

I have all three consoles. Check my posts in the last 30 minutes. "Game of the year for me will be MGS4". "LBP looks like some pretty innovative stuff."

Or better still; check this very thread. "RROD is rediculous".

So yeah. Take your "precious 360" comments to the fanboy corner please. If that's all you can do to counter an arguement, imply fanboyism, then please refrain from arguing with me in the future.

It is indeed racist to say customer service is bad just because you were talking to an indian person. Like i said, i did a whole module on the rise of petty racism as opposed to overt racism; and this was the ****c example. Go look it up. (many, not all) people in western countries show natural hostility towards foreigners; this being like i said, a ****c example. People will complain about talking to an indian person simply because they are indian; if they couldn't speak the language they wouldn't be in a job. And if people can indeed not understand them, they wont be in that job for long.

I wouldn't really trust a company who uses Nextgenwars.com sales as fact.JLF1

Wow did not see that, But I did see that the cheif Editor has his contact email as Hotmail, and it seems some of the things from the site are made with MS Paint.

Question, why do I care about an irish gaming website? OH NOES, vandalvideo's personal site stops covering the 360 because it smells like wet dog! The 360 is in its last throws!

I hope this thread gets locked. I hardly ever, EVER post in the system wars thread because it truely is the most immature forum I've ever seen. The one time I post an article in a system war thread, BOOM - it turns into people pointing fingers about racism to make Microsoft's customer service look better. This forum is a joke. Irrational fanboyism is pathetic. Call me a fanboy, but I'm rational about stuff. I'm really not even a fanboy, I love Nintendo too. I'm just not going to support a system that RROD's and is pay-for-everything. Ridiculous. I wont post in here for a long time... if ever.carljohnson3456

How can you possibly be so hypocritical to pass judgement on this entire board as immature when your first contribution was to have a pop at somebody you dont even know and claim they're a fanboy simply because they said something in favour of the machine you're criticising?

Last post for this thread: I'm not saying he's unclear, I'm saying he doesnt know what he's talking about. I'm not making a case for how there customer support is hard to hear, I dont really have a problem either. I'm just stating it's terrible. Regardless of Indian, American, African, Chinese, whatever. It's terrible.

FrozenLiquid

So we shall pin the entire Microsoft telephone support on one guy. Wow. Yes, it sounds as if he doesn't know what he's talking about. Maybe he's new on the job, I'm not sure. But this type of problem is not solely Microsoft's. Just a few days ago I called my bank, and twice I was put to two people who I could tell were reading instructions on how to proceed with my enquiries. The day before however, I had a person who knew what she was talking about. That was just a recent example.

I'm fairly sure he said "last post in this thread" as a safety to avoid having to reply to the inevitable annihilation of everything he said.

It's amazing that, what, three... four? Was it even five? I haven't counted... but a selection of people all pointed out that your comments were short-sighted and prejudiced, lacking any real arguement, and yet you come out the other end with the conclusion that they - all of them - are wrong, and that you are right. Depsite providing no arguement or response whatsoever to the observations they have made.

And then you close with little patronising comments like "good luck with those attitudes in life..."

It does bother me that a simple thread gets turned into something political, and for assuming it was fanboyism I was wrong. So, I just wanted to say that.

well seeing as I made the comment and I know exactly what I meant by it, I'm pretty sure I can say your wrong in your assumptions. lack of logic FTL...ninjaxams

You said xbox live customer service was a joke because the phone was answered by an indian person. I pointed out to you a linguistic study titled "the rise of petty racism" which included your very comments as one, of many, examples. That people will complain about customer service far, far more than usual if the phone is operated by a foreigner. The overwhelming majority of the time, the instructions given are perfectly clear, or at the very least, require you to at least pay a little more attention than you normally would. The chances of you being connected to a person who cannot speak english well enough to communicate with you are miniscule, and generally equal to the chances of you being connected to an english-speaker who is just as incompetant at instructing you appropriatelt. Those are all facts. Not opinions.

So, if your first attempt at an arguement here is going to be "lack of logic FTL" can we at least point out the blatantly obvious; that here we have a great deal of logic behind my post. As opposed to your offerings of "FTL", "i know what i mean" and "you cant understand the indian people".

EDIT: and in closing; you say you know what you meant by your comments, implying that we misinterpreted. It seemed to me like you said their customer service was a joke, citing the fact that it is operated by indian people (which in iself is factually incorrect) and you cant understand what the say. That's exactly what you said however. So basically you're saying that you refuse to tolerate speaking to a foreigner with an accent? If not, please enlighten me with exactly what you meant.

At least you have the common respect to do that. It's incredibly rare around here; people taking things back, admitting fault, accepting another point of view, or even admitting defeat in what is often overwhelming evidence of being incorrect.

Thank you very much for the brief flash of simple decency on a forum ruled by fanboyism and troll threads. :)

The new 360s are a lot better and this summer the 65nm is out so you can say no more RROD.

Lemmings said the same thing about the Elite, then the Halo edition, then the Falcon, now it's next summer. Any proof to that or are you just trying to mislead people?

RROD is rediculous. But at the very least i can say that microsoft customer service is great about it. You ring them, you tell you have the RROD and straight away BAM - what's your address please? We're sending you a box. Notice how they chose not to say what the "it's more complicated" actually entails?

Far as i'm concerned this is sensationalist nonsense intended to garner up a bit of traffic. Good luck to them.

EDIT: having just seen the number of logos and images on their site created in MS paint, i'd just like to reiterate how little anybody cares about this. :P

Please make an actual point and explain to me what i am in "denial" about seeing as i already said the RROD problem is rediculous and even made a thread earlier on microsoft's pathetic build quality.

But i have the gall to make a reasonable, balanced arguement and say the guys on this site are being unreasonable and dont deserve the media attention they're obviously trying to garner from this?

Again; explain.

Judging by the editor's contact details being his hotmail account, and the fact that many of their banners and buttons are made in MS Paint, i'd have to guess no.

Let's be honest here; this problem isn't going away. I dont understand the blind optimism that the next shipment of 360s will see the RROD issue gone forever. It's been two years. It's a design fault obviously, which cannot be rectified without a wholesale redesign of the 360 itself. It isn't going away any time soon.

It's going to get fixed for sure. Look the new Falcon have improve the failure rates and it's logical to think the 65nm is going to fix most of the issues since heat is the most common problem. Like the PS2 got better so is the 360 so to say it's going never going to get fixed is kind of dumb.

Are cows really getting this desperate? :|

One, a professional gaming websites purpose should be to serve the modern gamer. And guess what? Many modern gamers game on 360's. To drop 360 coverage is ridiculous and turning off would could be a large readership. Which brings me to my second point, by the looks of their website, they need all the readers they can get. It's poorly designed and blatantly uses MS paint for many of it's graphics. Why would anyone take such a website seriously?

SaintTheKing

"Owners of early PS2 models purchased from launch until July 2003 often reported faulty optical drives in their consoles. The earliest drives suffered from a constantly misaligning laser lens, which could also result in discs being scratched by the lens."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playstation_2

Keep in mind that the PS2 launched in mid 2000, meaning it had been nearly 3 years before the problem was fixed.

Before you say it, yes I do realize this is from Wikipedia, but unless you can find another source disproving mine, it's perfectly valid.

Dear Giant Company:

I used your product for 14 hours per day for two and a half years in my internet business and now I'm upset that they broke.

I wonder if MS will ever fix this rrod problem? If they havent solved the rrod problem after 2 years, i dont think they ever will...

Okay i agree with ya on that. But isnt it funny how Sony fixed the DRE for free. But if you get the DRE on the 360 MS charges you $100 to get it fixed. Tell me why that is...

I'm going to address that statement in two ways.

First, MS fixes the RROD (the 360's biggest hardware problem) for free. How is that any different than Sony fixing the DRE (the PS2's biggest problem) for free?

Second, Sony had to be sued (and subsequently lose) before they agreed to fix the DRE for free. MS on the other hand did not.

You're making it sound like MS is giving people a good deal for fixing the 360 for free. It was their fault from the very beginning, they have to fix it for free or people will just stop buying the 360 and it will fail. Sony fixed the DRE for free because it was their fault. And the 360s DRE problems are MS fault also. They should fix that for free too.

I sent in my PS2 twice before the suit was settled and was charged $90 each time. I guess I could have gotten my money back but tbh I played them into the grave so I never tried.

Now you're going off some completely different tangent. When did I say MS was giving people a good deal by fixing the RROD for free? All I did was present the facts. MS doesn't "have" to fix the 360 any more than Sony "had" to fix the PS2's problems. And Sony didn't fix the DRE problems because it was their fault, they did it because they were forced to as a result of the lawsuit. MS did this for a compltely different reason.

The 360's DRE problems are far more isolated than the RRoD, which is covered under the standard 1 year warranty. MS doesn't have any more of an obligation to fix that problem than any other company does if a product is out of warranty.

Ninja-Vox

Denial. Not just a river in Egypt.

You're trying to say that Microsoft is commendable for return services when there shouldn't be any returns in the first place.

You give one sentence saying RROD is bad and then you go on to glorify Microsoft as much as possible by having the gall to say 'it's not that bad.' You're downplaying the fact that products shouldn't have to be repeatedly shipped back and forth between the consumer and company and avoiding the fact that RROD is a massive inconvenience to the consumer.

Face it. You're in denial.
