I heard that the Load times for Next Gen were horrendous and in Dead Rising 3 takes around 3 mins to load when you die so what System/ games have the worst load times?

Nope. It's the OS it runs on.

The Xbone isn't as optimized as the PS4 in terms of both hardware and software.

I was about to say, load times have been barely noticeable for me. Loading chapters in Shadow Fall may take around a minute but thats about it. The game itself loads up in maybe 5 seconds.

PS4 is uber fast. Games that require install (all of them) are playable in under a minute from the first time you put in the disc. BF4 on PS4 loads faster than it did on my PC. Can boot up my PS4 and get into a MP match of Killzone in under a minute or so.

Why shouldn't that be Microsoft's strong point since that's what made the 360 good for multi plats?

IDK, Id rather have a little longer load time if that means that there aren't many more for most of the game. Thats what DR3 does.

On my PC I never have load times longer than 10 seconds except in BF4.
That is without SSD though.

Depending the context the next gen load times can be misleading. First loads are often taking longer, but subsequent loads have been pretty fast.

Never had 3min load times on dead rising, max 1 min 1.5min, forza is a bit long but nothing has been 3 minutes. It may feel like 3 minutes but in reality its 1 - 1.5min. I own XBOX ONE PS4 wii u and PC if anyone wants to call me a fanboy. :)

From real reports in the field it seems Xbone is that way now too, or at the very minimum considerably slower than the PS4.

i will agree it's slower then the ps4 in that field but no where near has bad as the ps3 or at least i don't notice it since you can play games once it gets X% bf4 12% was playable, nfs 7% was playable

Not really when running off disc with a 4GB install - which is what the vast majority seem to be. There are only a few games i would call "beyond horrible". Most notably Gran Turismo 5 with it's 10+GB install. I do the "full install" option on 100% 360 games anwway. So practically speaking it never bothered me the PS3 had so many mandatory installs. I actually wish the PS3 had just let you do the same and "full install" any game you want. Because given the option i will ALWAYS do a full install.

However it is horrible to have to download a 20GB game, then when you are done downloading have to wait 10-20+ minutes more to "install" that huge download. That has always seemed kind of stupid to me - although even then, there are pretty easy ways to work around it (PSN+ automatic download, play another game while downloading, etc).

3 minutes sounds like BS. This isn't about load times but install times

http://kotaku.com/installing-xbox-one-games-takes-way-too-long-1471191836?utm_campaign=Socialflow_Kotaku_Twitter&utm_source=Kotaku_Twitter&utm_medium=Socialflow

Assassin's Creed IV:

Xbox One (offline, no update): 5 minutes 50 seconds

Xbox One (with update, fastest connection): 7 minutes 2 seconds

Xbox One (with update, 10Mbps connection): 10 minutes 32 seconds

PS4: 42 seconds

The rest of these were tested on our office Wi-Fi which is around 9-11Mbps. It may have been faster on a wired connection, but you can compare your own connection speed here. These are our results:

Need For Speed Rivals:

XBO: 09:25 (including update)

PS4: 00:32

Just Dance 2014:

XBO: 08:48 (including update)

PS4: 00:45

NBA Live 14:

XBO: 16:26 (including update)

PS4: 00:35

FIFA 14:

XBO: 16:06 (including update)

PS4: 00:34

Madden 25:

XBO: 9:38 (including update)

PS4: 00:38

No explanation as to why this is the case. Just add it to the long list of advantages MS have lost to Sony.

Bizarro world. What's the load time on PS3 for some of these cross-gen titles for comparison?
