if the PS3 really isnt replaced until 2016, what can MS do in terms of advancing hardware in 2011 and make consumers actually want it? lets say xbox 720 comes out 2011 the only way it would be anywhere near $300 or less is if its essentially a 360. i mean a 3.5ghz CPU, or even 4.0ghz with 1gb ram or even 2gb ram would make the console like $500 or more and no would buy it coz there'd be a less powerful PS3 for $200 with loads of games by 2011, and a Wii 2 with 360 or PS3 hardware for prolly $200-$300 too, with a huge userbase how could MS up the hardware, and defeat the competition? i mean they aren't trying to change the way ppl play it, just the specs and what happens when the next gen DS comes out with gamecube hardware (which would be more powerful than the psp) does sony dare give the PSP2 xbox specs? making it a steep $250-$300 handheld? or does sony rehash the psp's hardware and add an analog stick and try to get better games? what do you see happening?darth-pyschosisIt will be.
10 year lifespan doesnt mean no more consoles for the 10 years.

The PS3 cut into the 10 life of the PS2, so expect the PS4 to cut into the 10 year life of the PS3. So the PS3 cut into the PS2 on the 6th year. So buy 2012 expect a PS4 out but PS3 games till 2016. Enough said.

Right the next Zelda better look as good as Assassin's Creed. And Mario better be on par with Ratchet in Clank in graphics for their next gen console. And it better be around $300.

yep. i wouldn't mind a mass effect-esque metroid action/rpgI see MS continuing to support the 360 with games and features on live. No new consoles until they can be priced below $5oo. Sony taught everyone that a $600 dollar console does not sell well.cainetao11
I see MS cutting support to the 360 just like they did with the Xbox.
