I like both game series, but if I'm only buying one system which one is worth getting for the exclusive? I'm not a fan of JRPGS so don't talk to me about Final Fantasy. There are rumors that MGS4 may eventually show up on the 360, but if the PS3 picks up steam this year that probably won't happen. Thoughts anyone?

You can substitute some pretty decent hack-n-slash like DMC4 for NG2 on PS3 as well. So you wouldn't miss out too much.

Good point actually. But I believe that DMC4 is a closer substitute for NG2 than SC is for MGS4. So my argument still stands.

in action, NG2 will be better but on an overall level, MGS4 will blow it away. Get MGS4 and then get DMC4 and NGS to scratch that hack and slash itch.TOTAL_DEFENSE_0
It's really silly to be directly comparing two amazing series of different genres. Both are AAA titles.

Well there certainly should be more exclusives that you must like. Just to throw some out there, there's Uncharted, Resistance, LBP, GT for PS3. There's Halo, GeoW, Banjo, Fable for 360.
And less important are each system's features. PS3 with the Blu-Ray and 360 with XBL and such.

Neither one of them are similar. DMC games are about free roam combat and the s tyle system which is the complete opposite of NG where you have dial a combo based system with a bigger emphasis on things like evasion.
SC is aimed towards realism. MGS hasn't aimed for realism since well the first one.
