PS4NEWSGALLERIESSony Computer Entertainment is showcasing the PS4 in Italy at the Games Week trade show in Milan, and the staff at the booth finally decided to debunk the widespread rumor alleging that games at events and on demo stations are running on PCs and not on actual PS4 hardware (which would make very little sense anyway, considering that we are less than a month from the release of the console, but judging from the comments I read on many articles, some still seem to believe it).
They tweeted on the Italian PlayStation account twopictures, that you can see below. The first showcases the demo area, showing the usual blue cabinets that some still believe nicely filled with powerful gaming PCs. The second reveals the interior of the cabinets, with a PS4 unit running. From the label we can partially see at the top of the picture it’s playing Killzone: Shadow Fall.
The text of the second tweet (translated from Italian) says quite clearly:
To debunk a false myth: Inside the PS4 cabinets there are PS4s, not PCs.
There you have it. Straight from the lion’s mouth: time to find another rumor to spread, because this one’s pretty dead by now. Of course some games were demonstrated on PCs in the past, but at this stage there’s no reason to believe that’s the case anymore.
