The game is being released early 2017.

This and Nioh are my top 2 upcoming ps4 games, hoping Nier is 60fps or it gets a PC version, there first trailer was 60fps and there's 4k shots of the game so who knows, but 60fps on ps4 or pc release, one of those has to be true.

It's 60fps on Ps4.
@jg4xchamp: I'd say skip the side content, but that includes some funny stuff. And don't even reply unless you're planning on doing ALL the fishing quests.

all the fishing quests? Are you people mental? I don't even like fishing in real life.
@jg4xchamp: One requires you to go fishing in the desert. But seriously, the ending is cool. Watch that if you don't want to sit through the game because it throws some Yoko shit at you. The same man that wanted to implement drastic framerate drops to a boss fight to enhance the battle. Who knows. Dude is out of his mind.

To be fair, framerate drops make certain areas badass as ****. In Ninja Gaiden 2 there is like this large set of stairs where you fight mad ninjas, and if you use the wind cutter power up shit, the framerate fucking DROPS, and it's like this slow mo cutting up of mad dudes, and it's like the most badass shit lol
But nah i got a buddy to play Papa & Yo, so I have to play Nier. It was our "you have to play this bad game I like in spite of it being bad" thing lol
Yesss Platinum doing their thing.
I will steal this picture from you now. Thanks.
Will be fun playing it on PC.
Hey it is a PC beggar...what a surprise. Have you signed the Spiderman petition?
@freedomfreak: That does look cool. I only hate the sword floating off their backs. But the quick, fluid combat looks cool.
Nier > Scalebound.
I don't care. I'll play both LOL

Failbound will be a waste of time. Microsoft has taken what was probably a really cool idea(little girl and her pet Dragon) and perverted it into a Westernized mess. Kamiya sold his soul. I wonder if he rubbed a monkey paw before he signed that deal.

So it's 900p then. hahahahah
Well... I'm going to be the only one in the world whose worst fears have just been realised seeing Platinum turn Nier into Bayonetta 3. Frantic, mindless, relentless combo-based beat 'em up action with Nier on the label.
Not for me thanks though I know for a lot of people Platinum can do no wrong they are doing exactly what they said they wouldn't do, i.e. force their own formula on to a game that was meant to be an RPG.
Sony gets a free superior exclusive Platinum game while Microsoft wasted money on Failbound.
Think again. Scalebound is much a bigger games than Nier.
Failbound looks like shit. It had the worst demo of any game at E3 besides FFV.
NieR Automata, Persona 5, Gravity Rush 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn are will all be better RPGs than Failbound.
All the money Microsoft pumped into the project doesn't mean shit or did you forget about Quantum Flop already?

To be fair Scalebound looks really cool.. Well at least till the main character open his mouth and put on his headphone.. It somehow reminded me of Justin Bieber and that is not a good thing lol

You must have PS4 confused with Xflop. You have another 17 months of shitty performing games until Flopio arrives.

Look someone is mad! :D
Looks great. Early 2017 is ridiculously packed with games. Horizon, Persona 5, Nier Automata, Mass Effect Andromeda, Scalebound, Yooka Laylee, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Resident Evil 7. I'm expecting delays.

Yeah I remember you saying that about Rise of the Tomb Raider also and that game turned out to be heralded and one of my favorites this gen.
LMAO you are so salty. Kamiya is making his game and you just NEED to hate on MS.

Sure is, huh? I know I am getting Horizon (pre ordered already), Mass Effect, Ghost recon. I believe Scalebound will be closer to May and of course I'm getting that. Halo Wars 2 is Late Feb so I think MS will make sure its a distance from it. Nier looks cool, will wait and see though as I thought the first was meh.

I never said ROTR would be be a bad game. I just wanted it to flop commercially and by all indications it did massively worse than the reboot. Even the PC crowd has somewhat soured on the franchise with it only sell 750k on Steam so far(and only like 15k on Windows 10 Store). It is probably hovering around 2 million sold on 360, Xflop and PC COMBINED more than 8 months after release. And hopefully it sells like shit on PS4 this Fall. With all the new exciting games being released it won't take much for it flop again. Uncharted 4 scored higher and sold more in one week than ROTR has altogether.
I also think Platinum is one of the most overrated developers in the industry right along with Remedy. The only reason I'm high on NieR Automata is because they obviously have a superior creative mind in Taro Yoko writing the story and designing the enemies/environments while Platinum sticks to what they do best in implementing great hack n' slash combat mechanics.
Yeah that guy totally compromised his vision for something Microsoft wanted, sure. Kamiya and the rest of Platinum have had the same double edged sword, they make what they want, and let the chips fall where they may (sans the contract jobs). A lot of times that's worked as the two Bayonetta games are fantastic, Revengeance was a blast, Vanquish is ace, and The Wonderful 101 is a gem. Every now and then they make a Mad World or yeah their contract work with Activision. I get that you people love getting on how bad that game looked at its E3 presentation, but it wasn't long ago that we saw footage of that thing at gamescom. And it looked pretty damn good, if not consistent in framerate.
It remains to be seen if Nier ends up being the better game (as it's more Platinum's comfort zone), but I'd still be way more curious of Platinum doing something that been out of their comfort zone as opposed to like say how From Software went from making a cool and unique thing in what Demon's Souls was to a lesser extent Dark Souls, and now I wonder if that's all they are actually good at.

Do you also like slicing your balls against a cheese grater?
Let's not pretend playing Nier was actually fun. It was a chore to play, with the only thing getting people through being the excellent writing, music, and fourth-wall breaking narrative. The second-to-second gameplay however was some of the worst of last generation, which is the sole reason it became a cult hit instead of a GOTY contender.
What Nier only ever needed was for someone to fix up the action gameplay, while keeping everything else. This literally is that game.
@jg4xchamp You're playing Nier? Lol if I know you it's literally everything you hate about video games. The only thing that it's got going for it is decent writing.
@FrozenLiquid: Bruh from my understanding you gotta play the game twice just for it to give you the full story, what a terrible fucking medium man. I swear every time gamers this medium has so much potential as a story telling medium it's a product of stockholm syndrome. Just shit they are trying to tell themselves, because the alternative of how shitty the medium is at story telling is too hard to accept. "No you just don't get his vision"
I should have gotten into snapple facts for a hobby.
Nier was an amazing game last gen even with all the problems it had and that Nier Automata was announced last year stands up to the TLG, FFVIIR and Shenmue 3 reveals for me. The biggest draw for me is not the platinum gameplay which seems to be intact here, but the crazy world from Taro and the hopefully godly soundtrack.

You're lying. You said it would be a waste of time, the same words you used here. It's like @charizard1605 said, you are the worst kind of fanboy, a toxic one. You actively root against games while claiming to be a GAMER. Really pathetic dude.
I don't care about your BS reasoning. You're a sad little person that takes this whole SW thing so serious he'll hope games do badly. You benefit in no way from hoping something people with families worked hard on fails which could lead to financial issues for those people. Its one thing to poke fun on here as many of us do. Me and the guys played U4 MP a lot when it came out and we poke fun at each other. You're one of these people that takes it to a bad level. I really pray for what you need to move past this kind of BS.

LOL didn't get his vision? I rarely get into mediocrity. 5/10 on GS was pretty spot on. What I see of this one looks fun and I hope its great.

Bullshit. I never said ROTR would be a bad game. Why would I be pissed about being denied a game I thought would suck? Post a link a or stop lying. The only thing I said in regards to ROTR was that Uncharted 4 would be a better... and surprise which game scored higher?
@StrongBlackVine: It'll take some digging back to its announcement at Gamescom that year, but okey doke I'll begin. It was in a thread after it was revealed and no, you never said it would be a bad game. You said it will be a waste of time because PS4 would get Uncharted 4 at the same time because it was supposed to be a Holiday 2015 release.
Either way, what I said stands. Hoping people's work doesn't earn them a living benefits you in no way but you do it anyway. I'm not surprised you wont engage in that part because there literally is no defense for that.
Nier > Scalebound.
By leaps and bounds measured by country miles. Gameplay is 100% superior, this is what P* is known for and I'm glad we're getting this instead of Jankbound.

I think Scalebound is the cooler concept on paper (because dragons) but Nier Automata is clearly the more polished and refined game of the 2.
