I dont have Demons Souls yet but i can say this for sure that DS is far more harder.. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is easy.. i thoguht the game would be hard but so far i made it to Chapter 9 and nothing was really that hard to beat

the way I hear it Sigma's 2 dificulty was toned down compared to the 360 version.
The same goes for Sigma 1 when compared to ninja gaiden and ninja gaiden black
Most reviewers have stated that Sigma 2(like Sigma) was easier than the original. Ninja Gaiden 2 on Master Ninja is the epitome of Torture.I dont have Demons Souls yet but i can say this for sure that DS is far more harder.. Seems like DS would be harder. Ninja Gaiden just seems to be cheap at times.siLVURcrossBoth games got the punishing difficulty mark, so DS might have some cheap moments as well. For one there is the whole if you die at the boss, you have to start the entire level all over again. Which is just stupid imo. They could atleast make an exception for boss fights, which are suppose to be no joke in this game. Also Ninja Gaiden 1 and Black were not cheap, those games were just straight up hard. If you got killed alot it wasn't the game being cheap, it was pretty much you not being able to perform. Ninja Gaiden 2 on the other hand, well that throws crap at you that you can't see, and then theres some annoying power moves certain people have, and then there is a boss fight that explodes after you kill it..... Now that's cheap.
sigma 2 dosen't count...they made it almost TOO easy...beat the game on warrior yesterday...died maybe 3 times throughoutI dont have Demons Souls yet but i can say this for sure that DS is far more harder.. Poor camera angles leading me to areas where I get ambushed by enemies I can't see, enemies with exploding knives that never miss and take out so much damage. NG is a very cheap game but of course it's a last gen. game with last gen. A.I. so intelligent enemies can't really be expected.

Do a downward jumping slash just when it's about to explode.
I have hard time imagining anything can be harder than the Black Spider Ninjas in the original ninja gaiden, or Alma. Say what you want, but it was ludicrous the first time you encountered them
EDIT: But then again, if you really say it is Kevin, then i'd guess i ove to myself to get sentenced to anger management therapy over the fall break :P

Most levels have short cuts that you unlock, and the end boss of each world is accessed directly from the Nexus.
They dont seem like similar games at all though. One is a very faced paced, twitch action game and the other is a hack and slash RPG (from what I can tell). So how can the difficulty's be compared? Does it just make you think tactically about the situation, where other RPGs had you running into enemies with no holds barred?Seriously, as a long time NG player, I feel confident in saying that Demon's Souls mops the floor with Ninja Gaiden games in terms of difficulty. DS is the hardest game I have played in years.

Ninja Gaiden 2 on Master Ninja by far.
Also, Ninja Gaiden 1's enemies are not cheap...especially not on the lower difficulties. Just because they don't stand there and let you shoot them like every other game today doesn't make them cheap.
Ninja Gaiden 2's enemies are a bit cheap though because of their unblockable grabs and suicide bombs.
I don't remember being able to block grabs/throws in any of the 1st games neither.Ninja Gaiden 2 on Master Ninja by far.

DS by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar.
I remember coming here in 2005 and hearing people screaming about how hard NG is. I remember thinking ..................what?
The thing to notice is even if a game is difficult, is it still fun to try and beat, despite the difficulty?get-ka12And that's the mark of a truly good game.

Ninja Gaiden 2 (not sigma) on Master Ninja. On Mentor I've broken my Xbox controller (snapped right in half) several times. Master Ninja is pretty much unfathomably difficult. Despite it treading into the realm of cheapness, it makes anything else I've played look like a joke and that includes games like I Wanna Be The Guy.
I'm at the point where I have to trek for 3 minutes to get to the next group of enemies, and every time I just get killed before I can even see them (about 10 incendiary shurikens come flying out of nowhere), and all of this is on the first level. :|
It's mostly the camera and cheap attacks that kill you. Block an enemy? Grabbed (instant kill on Master Ninja during the first few levels). Dodge an enemy? Grabbed by another. Incendiary shurikens rip right through your block as well. Then there's bosses with attacks that are literally undodgable at a certain range, and they don't give you any warning so you can't actually get closer or further away. Plus, the ranged bosses are a nightmare. Try fighting TWO bosses at once, both of them only killable with the arrows, while numerous little versions of the bosses constantly appear (each one taking one to two fully charged arrows to kill) and swoop down to grab you (while your camera is focused in bow-mode) doing massive damage and screwing up your aim. The game is downright cheap.
I don't remember being able to block grabs/throws in any of the 1st games neither. Yes, but in NG2 there's swarms of enemies and all they do is grab you. I've started battles by jumping into combat at full health just to get suicide grabbed (instant kill). It's so unbelievably frustrating.[QUOTE="iLiveBy2words"]

Is Demon Soul's consistently difficult through the whole playthrough? Or can you get to a point where you have the equips and stats to actually dominate many enemies (in addition to your own developed skills)? I'm for challenging games, but with RPGs I like to get to a point where I have accomplished enough to KNOW that I have a strong character.Seriously, as a long time NG player, I feel confident in saying that Demon's Souls mops the floor with Ninja Gaiden games in terms of difficulty. I've beaten NG2 on master ninja and have been playing demon soul all day and its hard to compare difficulty between the too. I heard alot of people say ninja gaiden is cheap compared to Demon Soul its the most honest game I've played. On demon soul you'll run into knights which you never know how strong they are until they've wiped the floor with you in 2 attacks. Put you in situations where there are 2 such nights and a group of archers in front of you at the same timeif you take a few steps back a fire breathing dragon will toast you. I know its been said but you have to start over when you die? You'll find yourself playing more as a soul than physical form. Glad to see the game is getting good scores I'd give an 8 right now. But still NG2 was by far harder almost broke my 360 controller a few times between that and NGB.
Ninja Gaiden was only hard for me when I first played it, not knowing much about how the AI is and how the gameplay works. After getting used to the game there wasn't much problem after that, and the challenge level sort of drop dramatically after adapting to the game. So really it is more of a learning curve than anything, so yeah Demon's Soul is more difficult in my opinion.
I don't have Demon's Souls yet either, but I noticed the Sigma's are easier than their predecessors. NG2 is pretty tough and NG for xbox is a monster with flaming eyeballs and a Machine gun with your doom in mind.I dont have Demons Souls yet but i can say this for sure that DS is far more harder.. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is easy.. i thoguht the game would be hard but so far i made it to Chapter 9 and nothing was really that hard to beat

There is usually is a short cut to most bosses so it doesnt take you more then 4-5 mins to get back to them.

im honestly not trying to be inflammatory here but if you havent played either, why would you bother commenting? i see this quite a bit and dont understand it. though at least you will say so, a lot of other people dont bother with that detail.
my ds experience was limited to about a half hour of play at a friends house. he seems to hate the game with a passion but cant stop playing it. when i played it, it was pretty cool, but seems a bit... steep on difficulty. so based on my limited impressions, i would say ninja gaiden 2. that game wasnt worth playing.

Try some of the Ultimate ninja and master ninja challenges and then come back and try to say it isn't hard. Some of the challenges still remain unbeaten by anybody
