I am supposed to be objective so i'll say that both are awesome.

Hmm both are great games but I am leaning toward Ninja Gaiden more, purely due to the fact that I prefer the gameplay more than the DMC ones.
Both are great. Ninja Gaiden is the best action series ever created, though. The gameplay in NG is unrivaled, and Ryu is a better character than Dante.

QFT.
Both great series, but DMC wins.

and 4 is awesome as well as long as you know how to play without button smashing. on the fly weapon switching, on the fly style switching, tons of weapons, awesome aerial combat moves with nero, world leader boards. The game is so much more technical than ninja gaiden. Ninja Gaiden 1 sucked, 2 so far seems better, but I'ma have to go with DMC.
NG>DMC. NG has way better combat.

maybe if you just button smash, but if you actually know how to play both games correctly, dmc offers so much more in terms of combat.

dmc,
being able to jumpcancel justabout every move and equip FOUR weapons at the same time makes for some sick comboing
im currently replaying sigma and
the camera is super fustrating and by far the most lethal enemy feels like it will never allow more than 2 enemys on screen at once
having to constantly head into the pause screen to swap anything really breaks up the pace
The game freezes every 8 minutes for "loading" half the time MID COMBAT!
Being forced to play as rachel
NG gives you a TON of consumables, find a new potion every 3 minutes it feels like whereas in dmc your expected to live on enemy health drops alone.
unable the cancel attacks in NG for a quick dodge takes some getting used to
NG's dial a combo system is very restrictive compared to DMC's 1-button-inputs that allows for alot of stylish free****comboing
NG2, while not nearly as big a step backwards as DMC2 was to DMC, was still a step in the wrong direction.Depends what you're talking about. The combat and enemy variety was greatly improved. The only problem was that nothing else improved with it. Combat is an integral part of the series though, so it's ultimately debatable. Balancing was weaker, yes, and some of the levels weren't so well designed (but neither were they in NG1/NGB/NGS). Ultimately using the poor outdated engine killed all other potential it had for great graphics, physics, and better framerate. They've said that numerous times in interviews as to why there were some problems.myke2010
DMC.
DMC3 was one of my favorite games of all time. I was so psyched to see DMC4's teaser's about a guy "needing more power." I was like, OH DAYUM Virgil is Back!!!!!!!
...but not it's about some dude named Nero :| Way to throw a curveball there capcom.
Nero isn't that bad a character, but Dante and Virgil destroys his coolness in every way.
DMC 1 + 3 > NG Series.aaronmullanDMC1 > NG series > rest of DMC series. Overall though, I prefer NG. The combat is unmatched.

I disagree on the combat part. In NG Black if you died it was your fault. In NG2, you could do everything right, but because there were so many cheap enemy tactics and unblockable attacks you would still die (ie. enemy explodes after dying with no warning killing you). I got fed up with it and didn't even finish the game. A shame too as up until this point the NG series was pretty much perfect IMO.
Definitely, though it was easier than Ninja Gaiden because of some gameplay tweke with the ability to charged up a ultimate technique without the aid of essence, it had more extras and replay value. I remember spending a lot of hours in the mission mode alone in this game.Ninja gaiden. Black is one of my favourite games ever.

Yea even though he does nothing that a real ninja is supposed to do and the combat is fast with all flash, no substance. Terrible character choice for an action game if you ask me. atleast they give reasons for Dantes abilites. no wonder that crap Dev quit.
omg I got DMC 4, I hate it soooo damn much. The story is wtf, at least NG storys are just a blatent excuse for the gameplay and levels. The combat is awful, theres very little depth. Also cameras no better because there are silly forced platform sections and when the camera angle changes for a new screen or section of the platform, the controls seem to go in a different way (Resident Evil style, going from room to room).
Even if older DMCs have better story (riiiiiight) and level design then DMC 4, if it uses the same combat and has the same camera issues, I won't enjoy it.
I can't believe the fanboys even cared about this going multiplat. DMC is what I call style over substance like it's not even funny, but imo thats Capcom this gen. I've been so unimpressed with them.

It was harder than NG I think, in NG you could use the flying swallow against anyone, but it's harder to spam moves in NGB. Maybe in someways it was harder and others easier. It's been a long time since I played the very first version.
