This video: http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/856/856529/vids_1.html Is of Ninja Gaiden director explaining why the PS3 version is different, and in a sense uniquely  better than its predecessors. He even goes so far as to say that it is the first "true action title" on next-generation consoles. They're definitely arrogant developers, that's for sure, but he sheds a lot of insight on why this game should have plenty for newcomers, and perhaps enough to surprise Ninja Gaiden fans on the original Xbox.

New textures, new weapons, new areas, new characters, new animations and combat elements, etcetera.

Looks good to me and I'll be picking up a copy. Of course, perhaps the director is just trying to get some sales for this game by talking about it...however, I'm convinced. Looks great. Thoughts?

Redone textures, animations, character models

It has new weapons (with a totally different action moveset than the other weapons),

a new character (rachael),

4 more chapters than the original ninja gaiden(rachael chapters),

Ryu(has new evasive techqiues)/enemies have new animations,

all the weapons have new moves,

there are new enemies,

sixaxis will be implemented,

there will be a difficulty HARDER than master ninja,

re-encounters with bosses,

former cut scenes will now be playable/turned into FMVS,

combat that now takes place on top of water while performing the water run technique,

more worms in the worm-fight,

new stages,

major upgrade to graphics/direction,

support 1080p AND 60fps.....(which gives hope for Lair supporting 1080p/60 fps),

Fixed things: such as the aiming system and camera.

was built from the ground up for the PS3 therefore it's a remake, not a port. And apart from these features there's still some untold/unknown info...

I know it's early, but, Ninja Gaiden Sigma looks boring.  I've seen the Gameplay videos and screenshots, the game looks quite bland.

I am so friggen glad that there is finally a Ninja Gaiden on PS3, I really wanted to play this game last gen, infact it almost made me want to buy an Xbox, almost. I remember going to the game store and looking at the case of this game for the Xbox and crying , and the employee was like "dude if you want the game, just buy it" and I was like "I DON'T HAVE AN XBOX AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY A NEW CONSOLE"

I will finally have some ninja action on the PS3, wooooohoooo !

p.s. I made up that crying bit but I did go to the game store to look at the case of this game and wondered how it played :)

You're missing everything, apparently. NG:S is confirmed to play at 60 FPS at 1080p.

No need to gloat cows, once Ninja Gaiden 2 is announced and they start talking how great the 360 is, this gloat will be long forgotten.

No, it's not. It's the 1080P+60FPS thing that stands out. The simultaneity of it.
