Ok we all know the Wii isn't just killing the other systems in sales, it is commeting genecide. The numbers are staggering, but the BigN has one game that everyone who doens't have a Wii yet has been waiting for. SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL. Wait till this game come out and see the scale tip in BigN's favor.

I went to a gaming tornamet last month it had NBA2K Basetball, GhostRecon, and SSBM. Some people showed up to compete in Basketball, and GRAW but SmashBros had 30 plus people from all over the state to play. When asked if they had a Wii they said "Not yet, I'm waiting on SSBB."

If you're a Lem or a Cow and don't know anything about SmashBros this is the End-All, Be-All in fighting/ beat'em ups/ party games. Wii sales will just blow up like NYC in that 1-18-08 trailerat the beginning of Transformer the movie !!

Since I've been here, I notice people tend to make 1 game a reason for a system to actually sell. How flawed is that thinking? A very popular game will sale between 5-10 million units. Majority of those sales will be from people who already has the system. I expect some console units to be moved within the first month of the said game release, but after that units sales will even out at the usual sale numbers.

In general, the entire mario franchise is what continues to keep the nintendo industry in business. The mario franchise are games that can be played by all ages, and thus the marketing team can target children to adults for video game sales.

Errr, SSBB is no secret weapon. It's already popular and most people know about it.

When a game revives a dead system and pushes sales 26,000%, I'm assuming not a lot of people had the console.

The only problem with that idea is how much better can a system that already sold out, sell?

Then again it may be worth it to pick a extra one up to resell at the end of the year.

According to the ESA (Entertainment Software Association)this is the best-selling video game super genres by units sold for 2006 (all consoles, not PC):

27.5% of sales were Strategy

17% of sales were Sports Games

10.8% of sales were Racing

10.6% of sales were shooters

9.5% of sales were role playing

9.3% of sales were Family Entertainment

4.6% of sales were Fighting

3.4% of sales were Adventure

rest not worth mentioning.

As you can see, according to sales data most people don't care about fighting games. This myth that Super Smash will grab everyone and their mother to the Wii doesn't make sense when you look at the numbers. Most people don't care about fighting games.
