April 1, 2009 - Nintendo has been focusing on New Play Control games of late, but that's going to change shortly. The latest Shounen Jump offered up first solid details on Takt of Magic, a first party Wii game that's now set for May 21 release in Japan.

In Takt of Magic, you take control of Orwell and Sharlot, two childhood friends who, for a reason that's currently unclear, face off on the battle field against monsters and enemy soldiers.

Jump promises an in-depth look at the game's "new ****battle system" and "deep story" in its next issue, but this issue provides a couple of hints about the game. You hold the Wiimote like a wand and draw out shapes to perform magic. The game includes over 100 spells. In addition to casting magic, you also control a battle party, whom you direct on the battle field from an overhead perspective.

Looks like Lost Magic with more RTS elements. It looks fun through.

Umm, it means they're happy. What I'm confused about is why there is a pink faction and a blue faction.

Looks like a nice rts game :)

They should have saved this for E3. looks alright i guess. It looks simpler than Halo Wars, which got destroyed in reviews for being too simple. Granted we know nothing about this game so lets wait and see.

I do like how you draw attacks with the Wiimote. Looks like they took a page out of Okami. Nice.

That all depends on your definition of the word hardcore. A word that tends to change shape and form every generation. The RTS genre itself is often considered the hardcore of all hardcore. So to answer your question... there's the hardcore.

Halo Wars is now hardcore. That's going to upset a lot of hermits. :lol:

I also watched the video. I saw more of an action game than I did a real RTS.

I can see lots of hardcore parts, particularly on theground.dont know what those guys are talking. :P

Seriously though, it looks like one of those Nintendo games where its for everyone. Easy to pick up and play but enough substance for the serious players.
