I can't wait. I've gotten farther than I ever have in a Pokemon game with HeartGold and I plan to beat it. And now, getting all excited for a 5th generation of Pokemon, I plan to learn all these like I did in the past.
There are still some of the newer types from RSC and DPP that I don't know. :P
seeing as it's not on the 3ds I suppose full 3d battles is too much to ask for.
Hopefully these will have fully animated sprites though.

Yeah, actual animation of the pokemon is one small improvement that can add a lot to the Pokemon series. I don't want it to be super detailed because that would take away from what Pokemon is, but i think a little more than just stiff characters would be great. I just hope they make it memorable. I found Diamond and Pearl to be VERY average and forgettable. If they make it more like Ruby (which is my favorite i think), then it should be good.

I'm hoping they'll sort out the audio, the 8-bit audio from the days of the Gameboy is really holding things back, especially when you select a Pokemon and it makes that terrible 'screeching' noise. the NDS which is essentially a 64-bit system is capable of a lot more.

Well you have to remember that HG/SS were released at the end of september in japan. This game is getting a fall release date in japan. Considering that this is a new region and not a remake, localization will take longer. I would expect it sometime mid 2011.

the colour spectrum has just begun, they did 4 colours, 2 metals and 5 gemstones XD getting kinda ridiculious, no? i'm gona wait and see how these turn out before i deside wether or not to stick with HG and Pt

Are you serious? Just in case you are, yes Nintendo owns the Pokemon series, hence why they are always on Nintendo systems and why their logo is all over the games and anything to do with the TV series.

Well excuse me for asking, but how was I suppose to know? I stopped watching Pokemon after the Mew Two movie came out and I only play two pokemon games : one for the gameboy color and Pokemon Stadium
lol,wanted to say this... pokemon..rehashed crap Because Ratchet and Clank is so innovative and fresh.the latest one was :| atleast they dont make 2 of the same games and just add TINY differences in each,and then for the lulz,nintendo/Gamefreak make a THIRD game with 75% of the same thing! just tweaked every gym and made the viilains go after both things
Sad it's not on 3DS, that would sell the thing for sure if it was a launch title... maybe it will be near the release of the new system though? Either way, I'm sure I'll be getting this.

Pokemon is HUGE, and guess what? It sells their handhelds. Why would they divide that market?
