It seems to me that Nintendo, whilst backward in tech on some levels have it right on more important levels. I am talking about, in this instance, 3D gaming. 3D has never been done with true commitment in terms of a dedicated console like the 3DS and the same can be said for motion controls and other Nintendo efforts. The PS3 and XBox360 motion and 3D will fail because they are too seperate from the original consoles attributes. Sony seem to have a me too method and Ms seem to try to steamroll with cash whilst the big N uses its balls and for that you have to at least give respect even if you don't like what they are doing.

3d is optional so u can turn it off whilst STILL having new games with upgraded graphics... no balls at all. Just a marketing gimmick.

Nintendo pushes forward and leads, Sony is kinda in the middle contributing but sometimes "just goes along for the ride," while MS is in the back weighing everything down and milking the consumers.

Nintendo did kinda slip this generation with online and HD though. They also did try to do a full 3D system with the Virtual Boy which sucked horribly. Sony is pushing Blu Ray/Entertainment Center, online, and especially 3D. Microsoft seems to be turning into just a social networking hub that milks its consumers because it can. Kinect is an advanced Eyetoy while Move is a superior Wiimote. I have a feeling Sony dumped the Eyetoy for a reason and Microsoft didn't really understand why. Nintendo is taking the next step in 3D though by one-uping Sony with glasses-free 3D. Its not perfect but it needs to start somewhere.

Yet, other companies and systems will all turn to 3d, The movies have already done it.
