They are being stupid. They gave them a 0 because nintendo didnt give them any info. Fox news couldnt have spun it any worse more than that.

Did you read the article? They listed their reasons, and Nintendo withholding info wasn't one of them.
And yes, FOX could do better. They could say that Nintendo clubs baby seals or something.
The only reason Sony is winning is because the PS3 doubles as a barbecue.
It is delicious for outdoor, homegrilled cook-outs.
The power of the cell results in tender cow meat.

Did you read the source thats cited, the actual report from greenpeace? They cite lack of information for every single one of the criteria as to why they gave them a 0. Link
Just a side note. Seals are overpopulated in the arctic, and are wiping out whole species of fish, which we need to eat. Clubbing the babies means that you stop them from breeding too much and wrecking the environment. Shooting them is less humane, as they can lie there dying for hours.
Not saying it's 'good', but just because something is 'cute' doesn't make it a purely good thing.

Very secretive...
I wonder what is actually in my Wii-Mote.

Greenpeace suck, I'm all for recycling and careful waste disposal, but according to Greenpeace humans ARE the waste. :(
Well, not really. But Greenpeace has rated Nintendo as the worst electronic manufacturer in terms of being environmentally friendly. Probably won't even faze them, but it can't be good for PR. Zeke129
I, personally think it's great that Nintendo is standing up to hippie enviromentalist peace lovers. In my mind, I would just as soon kill a man as look at him, so I LOVE destroying childrens futures. I think it's fantastic.
Contributing to eventually killing everyone all of you care about makes me love Nintendo even more than I already did.
Anyway, honestly, enviromentalism and greenpeace are, in my minds, far left loons who think that not recycling plastic off the cutting room floor will kill every child in the world, inside of 10 years. If your a political activist into "enviromentalism" I can see why you would care, but if your a gamer, honestly, its PC to say we care about the enviroment, but I would club 10 baby seals myself to help Nintendo sell one more Wii this holiday, just so I could laugh at the Lemmings.
You, me, and all our kids will be long dead before any pollution Nintendo does, will have any effect on the enviroment whatsoever. Protesting companies for non-enviromental conformity is bullcrap, and I guarntee you they will make a much larger profit not caring what the enviromentalist think, than they would if they conformed to their ultra strict and pointless regulations. The end.

the report bases all of its info off of this little section of nitnendo's site.

Other reasons include it running solely on dust. Sony knew that the PS3 would collect it, so why not power the PS3 with dust :P?
I would club 10 baby seals myself to help Nintendo sell one more Wii this holiday, just so I could laugh at the Lemmings.Zenfoldor
LMAO! Good lord this is one of the funniest things I have ever read on SW. and there has been some funny stuff.
Only 4 of those were "no info". The other ones refer to the fact Nintendo doesn't have a policy or guidelines on said substance or action. Zeke129
Or they don't have info on the policies or guidelines which is the logical assumption.
[QUOTE="iunderstand"]Or they don't have info on the policies or guidelines which is the logical assumption.
Zeke129
Well, if they don't have a policy on a certain substance we can logically assume they're probably using it.
Furthermore, when you click on "more information". This is the link it redirects you to, aka their evidence.
based off of this

Yes, this meter makes me want to pollute.
they base their info on what they read in an FAQ section of their website. yea thats obviously all of their policies listed right there.
laughingman42
Well, you show me their policies. A company so environmentally-committed as Nintendo must post them somewhere, right?

You don't think that maybe they could have contacted the company first before publicly slandering them?

That's true. The problem with that is all that money they're earning to have a good life and provide their kids with one will indeed give them a good life, but when those kids grow up and they see that their kids have to grow up in a polluted, unsanitary world partially b/c their father wanted to make a few extra bucks, no matter how much money you make for them, they'll still hate you.

Woot another reason for me to support Nintendo. :D
I'm not against the environment, I'm against those global agencies that like to poke and prod at companies to produce study results that have absolutely no influence.
A takeback plan gives marks against them? How about people themselves dispose of things properly! Nintendo sells it they arent a recycling plant..

All of this ridiculous hippie name-calling towards Greenpeace is not so much a blast against Greenpeace and their cause (I hope not), but a sheep reaction against something bad said about Nintendo. If they ranked Nintendo last in anything, they attack the entire organization, one that has involved decades of research, volunteer work, charity, andtireless efforts to educate a dull-minded and slow-moving public. But these Sheep get angry and want Nintendo first in everything, like a soccer mom. Newsflash, if you get ranked, especially ranked last, work on improving instead of just crossing your arms in petulance.
Think next time what you're saying. It's okay to kill the seals? What is wrong with some of you people? But then, I shouldn't expect much deep thought since this is the same forum that created an explosive riot when Metroid Prime Corruption got a 9.0 and they were angry even about that. It seems they care more for prestige and high numbers instead of quality and the product itself.
Once in a while, put down the video games and think of broader subjects in life. Not Metroid Prime, not SMG, where you collect imaginary stars. And you're the ones making fun of Greenpeace who is right now doing exhaustive field work and research while you wiggle your arms to collect starbits in front of a TV? Get out more, jeez.

I posted the link to Greenpeace's exhausting research they did on Nintendo's policies. Here is the link if you are curious as to how they got their findings.
I could also say the same for you. Rather than acknowledge that Greenpeace's allegations have no factual basis and have done nothing to properly research the company's environmental policies, you immediately agree with anything bashing Nintendo.
