no, i think the wii mote is a stupid idea, its an ok system, but not a solid game platform. its not just the Wii that i dont like anyway. i dont like the game cube, althought i thought Pikman was a blast. i dont like the N64, cause the games sucked. i didnt like the DS, cause again, silly controls.

What ridiculous arguments. We are gamers and we play games, a new way to control them should not have any bearing on your enjoyment of them if they're implemented well. Take the DS for example. A fantastic machine with Amazing games from first and third parties, yet you dismiss it because "teh touch screen is dumb lolz!!!!". How can you even call yourself a gamer?
Not really, I've still got SSBB coming out, still got Super Mario Galaxy, Disaster Day of Crisis, Crystal Chronicles, and Sadness coming out. The bottom line is that this E3 stuff is stilis still all just speculation, I'm sure there'll be a bit more of a leaning towards 'casual' games, but there'll still be plenty of games for real gamers. People complain about mini-games on the wii, but the same thing happened on the DS, it's just a trial period during which devs are trying to figure out how to use the technology.

You have mentioned the DS, but you forget that the only competition that the DS had was the PSP which was pretty poor competition, and it took two years for the DS to get decent support. Are you really prepared to wait 2 years for the Wii to start getting decent third party titles? As well as this the DS was never flooded with non games, whereas the Wii has been. What makes you think that developers will change their stance on Wii development?
As for the games that you mentioned, my overwhelming feeling looking at them is "gamecube". Those titles (or their predecessors) were pretty muchall on the GC (Although Disaster looks mildly appealing but Sadness is just vapourware)
I feel less alienated having a Wii than any other console because there hasn't been a single person who didn't enjoy the system. Girlfriend, parents, professors, non-gamers; everyone likes it.
Now if you want to rephrase the question as "do you feel alienated from the hardcore crowd", then I'd still say no, because outside of message boards online, all of the hardcore gamers that I talk to in a little place called reality also enjoy the system.
Now if you want to rephrase the question yet again as "do you feel alienated from the hardcore, message-board attending crowd", then I'd still say no, because many of those people have and enjoy the Wii.
Now if you want to rephrase the question one last time as "do you feel alienated from the hardcore, message-board attending crowd that's been told by Microsoft and Sony that the only way to enhance the gaming experience is through raw horse power", then I'd say yes, but then I'd also mention that I never agreed with said crowd to begin with, so the point is moot.

I dont argue that raw horsepower is the be all and end all of gaming, that is the argument PS3/360 fans are making and they are getting owned for the privelage. What i argue is that you are a gamer. I do not doubt that Watrioware and Wii sports are tremendous fun in groups. But this is our hobby and those of us who have owned the Snes and Nes did not sign up to play the occasional game of tennis or bowling.
Where are the tradditional game experiences? I dont mean traditional in terms of controls, but titles that are built for single player. titles that have depth and beauty and imagination. Titles like shadow of the Colussus or OOT or half life that truly engross you and make you appreciate gaming. As far as i see it you get the nintendo stuff, a handful of third party titles and the rest is shovelware and minigame collections. and as i said that's just the gamecube all over again
