"AW DS 2 did receive a compelte overhaul in terms of design. Gone are Max, Andy and the others, replaced by a whole new crew. IS went with a whole new, more realistic, miltary look, and quite frankly, it seemed like a pretty wise move. Graphically-wise, the look went with the new design, though it looked pretty much the same. New combat animations were pretty low-quality though, blurry and badly animated. Surely that's gonna be fixed by the time it comes out. Had time to notice a new unit - bike infantry unit - and that pretty much sums it up."

Hmmm so they are getting rid of the entire cast? Man I loved those lovable CO's I wonder how this is going to turn out. No longer will this be a laid back game of war this thing looks like its getting serious Fire Emblem **** Well I hope it turns out well because Advance Wars imo is the best Handheld gaming franchise ever.

I know I do too. Especially the crazy music when they active a Super Power. Not to mention the little quotes they say.

And I could say it's new super mario bros....Its all opinion. The only handheld game I am looking forward to is crisis core on the PSP.....Because Final Fantasy is the one of the best series ever that I have been playing since the NES.

Having not played either, how similar are Advance Wars and Batallion Wars? Yes I have a Cube, a GBA, a Wii, and a DS...im sorry I missed out:(gromit007

Advance Wars is more like Fire Emblem, since it's turn based war combat but Batallion Wars is a free roaming full 3D war game.

I highly suggest at least picking up AWDS, you can probably get it for dirt cheap now, it's worth it. The two for the GBA are good as well but lack the wireless multiplayer and there are less features. Advance Wars 2 is going to be amazing though, I like the art that the game is going to use and that IS has decided to go for a more 3D approach instead of the side scrolling battle scenarios.
