They have sold alot of systems but at what cost? I think this has really tried the patients of their core audience.

Yeah, they're trying to get motion controls like Nintendo.. Other then that they haven't pissed me off yet.
There are the timed exclusives, which only serve to piss people off. The PSP DD only. There is the RROD. Etc etc. Nintendo just did things fine.Agreed, people seem to have forgotten the power pad games from the NES. Then there was the Power Glove, the Super Scope and when Rumble was added to Star Fox many though it was a fad and laughed at it. Even the arrows on the first NES controller many experts though was a "fad" and would die out because the Atari had the better controller. Nintendo has pushed ideas for the way we game more than any other company. Some times they fail like the Virtual Boy, Printer on the Gameboy and so on. Other times they have success like the analog, rumble and motion controllers. Every time they try and change gaming there are those who go stomping their feet. Has Sony and MS move towards the change into the use of motion controls even they will aspect and enjoy the change.I don't see how Nintendo changed at all except they are gaining instead of loosing momentum.

Nintendo has gained my respect. I didn't own a gamecube or n64. I got a wii and a ds this gen and I love 'em both. I know a lot of people here don't like the wii, but every single gamer I know (in real life, not on the forum) agrees that the DS is one of the best consoles this gen.

As someone who owns all the Nintendo consoles, i say it is the worst of the lot. I had high hope for it but it was evident mid last year that the Wii's game line-up had already peaked (and i was right) and got a 360. Haven't bought a Wii game since. In the end i am a hardcore gamer and since Iwata took over it has meant he has gone casual and i have gone elsewhere. Wii game sales will drop since most hardcore gamers have mostly gone to the other 2 consoles leaving the casuals who buy much less games.

you are a hardcore gamer that does not buys games does not computeThe reason the GC failed so badly it was Nintendo try at getting the core gamers. The GC ended up being just another games system with the only cool extra was if you bought the GB hook up. Which is why the system failed. Unlike the Wii where Nintendo went back to changing how we play our games. Back to their roots you could say,Seriously, can anything be worse than the Gamecube?

Wow well there goes all respect for you, besides as others have said the only respect nintendo's lost is from delusional fanboys who think chainsaws are cool and they are the only ones who should be cataered to despite the majority of sales on their own consoles also come from casuals.

I do buy plenty of games, just not for the Wii (have bought plenty for the 360 with many more to come). in fact i have already played over 40 games on the 360 since end of October. I bought 20 Wii games in just 1 year so i do buy games.

Which is why the system failed. Unlike the Wii where Nintendo went back to changing how we play our games. Back to their roots you could say,I agree I loved the system it had most of my favorite games last gen but Nintendo didn't innovate they they usually do like on the N64 they added Analogue Stick Rumble, and a Z Trigger. GCN all they did that was new was GBA Hook Up if you bought it which not alot of people did.HarlockJC

It also was steamroled by a console that sold on 100% hype that was never met and had to deal with a new console called the X box that did a good job at attracting N64 owners. But in the end you are right on in saying that they lost when theywent for "core gamers". It has nerver paid to go for the core gamer (not counting any gen before the PS1/N64); the N64 lost, the cube and xbox lost, the PSP is getting stomped on ,the PS3 is dead last and the 360 only held on to its number one spot in terms of sales for about two years, one of which was before it had ANY compitition.
