Of course, thats not even arguable! Hahaha. Theyve been making video games for a LONG time and more people recognize mario, link, pikachu, donkey kong, and samus than any other game character i can possibly think of (except maybe pacman lol).... What are YOU thinking?!They are video game making veterans, have the most recognizable characters in the industry,.......................????

supporting just one system does not work, you are missing out no matter the system. and it applies to all 3 consoles and pc.
I agree with you mostly but i also think its easier to stick only with ps3 or xbox than it is to stick with only Wii. And that really has nothing to do with my preference for a specific company, it just has to do with the frequency of notable game releasessupporting just one system does not work, you are missing out no matter the system. and it applies to all 3 consoles and pc.

I agree that I am missing out on some damn good games but if I had more than one system I think I'd miss out on a lot of real life.supporting just one system does not work, you are missing out no matter the system. and it applies to all 3 consoles and pc.

You want to know what I think it is? Nintendo games can be fun for years at a time. I get on here and see people getting bored of games on the 360 and PS3 less than a month after they release, and after 4-5 months, those same games have a larger grouping of people that hate those games than people who love them (like what happened with Skyrim). The other fanbases are so obsessed with the up and coming games, are so preoccupies with owning the latest upgrades to a series, that they can never have fun with the games they already own. There are people who have played every major game for their systems, but today don't own nearly half of the games they had bought because they grew bored of amazing games.
It seems that Nintendo fans can appreciate Nintendo's games for a much longer period than the cows and lems can. I myself still play my Nintendo 64 more than my Wii or 360. Nintendo games are amazing pieces of software that are so simple, people can have fun with them for years at a time without becoming boring. That's something the the Xbox and Playstation don't have, at least not yet.
I would have gone this entire gen without another console other than the Wii if I hadn't found Fallout and Elder Scrolls last year (by "discover", I mean actually like them. I've known about them for years.)
I think theres alot of truth to what u say. Im wondering tho, could u also agree that part of the reason a good nintendo exclusive game gets so much more appreciation from fans is because they are so rare? Theres tons of them! But they dont come often. Wouldnt it be possible to say a person is more likely to stick with and love a game knowing that a game of similar quality wont come for a good while? You want to know what I think it is? I agree with this.

Actually, there recognition is exxagerated y nintendo fans, mario and Pokemon are the only real true things out there Samus is not recognized, people still call her "Metroid" like if that was her name. Donkey Kong usually only is stated along side Mario, Link destroys his with the fact a lot of the games allow you to rename him instantly, and many have no idea who he is. Stretching nintendo has 2 world wide recognizable franchises. Pole Postion has more recognition than the majority of Nintendo Ips.They are video game making veterans, have the most recognizable characters in the industry,.......................????

But they dont come often. Wouldnt it be possible to say a person is more likely to stick with and love a game knowing that a game of similar quality wont come for a good while? That would possibly make them more appealing to gamers. In truth, good Nintendo games aren't rare. Look at Mario. We've had a new Mario platformer almost every year since 2006, yet they are all still extraordinarily fun. I really don't think it has anything to do with how often the games release, I think it's more attune to games being a constant level of quality while adding new features to the games without sacrificing any quality. Games coming through at that quality every 2-3 years, though, would definitely help sales. You want to know what I think it is? Nintendo games can be fun for years at a time. Really Atari?
Even if you dislike Nintendo, there is no doubting that they have been in the video game business for far longer then Sony or Microsoft. And the simple fact remains that they outlasted their competaries like Sega, SNK, and Atari and are still making video game systems.
So yes, they are veterans in the video game industry.
And yes, they have some of the most recognizable characters in the industry. I'm willing to bet more people know who Mario and Donkey Kong are then Kratos, Nathan Drake, and any other character that you care to name.
About the only characters that might be close to Mario level in terms of regocination is Sonic, and Pac-Man
Its not a stretch to claim that Mario is more well-known then anyone Sony or Microsoft have to offer.
But there's tons of third party support on the DS and Wii
Oh sure, it's not in the form of CoD clones, and action games, but there's tons of it regardless.
Tons of JRPGs, tons of side scrollers, lots of platformers, and adventure titles, and even strategy games.
It just depends on how swayed you are by advertising. If you need others to make up your mind for you on what to buy then the 360 and PS3 were the obvious choice because they get the very mainstream/casual spotlight.
Sticking to a Nintendo console ONLY is impossible. Going WITHOUT a Nintendo console is also impossible.charizard1605Don't have to tell me, I lost a lot of good games the previous generations. From this and the next I'll always go PC, Nintendo and possibly a Playstation.
i lost respect for nintendo ever since gamecube era releasing weaker hardware than competitor and not supporting the modem they released for gamecube. nintendo didnt even make games for the modem they released for gamecube bunch of goddamn idiots.CrymeAriver
The Gamecube was more powerful then the PS2 and was very close to the Xbox in terms of power. When RE4 got ported to the PS2, several graphical features had to be toned down due to the PS2's hardware being weaker then the Gamecube.
As for the modem, I do agree with you on this. Nintendo missed out on a big chance to take Mario Kart, F-Zero, and Kirby Air Ride online during that generation.
You want to know what I think it is? Arcade/MS/Sony games can be fun for years at a time. I get on here and see people getting bored of games on the 360 and PS3 less than a month after they release, and after 4-5 months, those same games have a larger grouping of people that hate those games than people who love them (like what happened with Zelda). It seems that Arcade/Ms/Sony fans can appreciate Arcase/MS/Sony's games for a much longer period than Nintendo fans can. I myself still play my Arcade/7800/Xbox/Ps2 more than my N64/GC/Wii/DS/360/S3. Arcade/MS/Sony games are amazing pieces of software that are so simple and also complex adding variety people can have fun with them for years at a time without becoming boring playing games like Q*bert/Pole Position 2/ Halo 2/ San Andreas. That's something Nintendo games don't have if i were to do what the quoted user did and make up some Disney magic excuse, Seriously, you whole speed, no offense, I mean you clealry are a Nintendo fan with the Ava and all, but no. There is no magical way Nintendo makes games. the only reason why this gen they did so well was with an approach that was a temporary fix from the GC. Another GC with HD budget titles could hurt them, so i would like it if you guys don't pretend they are invincible. Or they could end up like Sony with people making themselves believe nothing bad is happening/ will happen. You want to know what I think it is? Nintendo games can be fun for years at a time. only if you are the type of person with the need of finishing a game in 2 days.

I though Mk had a semi-online mode? Oh and uh, those lack of space mini discs didn't help either as well as thinking name brand would sell 2 gens in a row.4 jrpgs, you weren't specific with side-scrollers, the 360 has more platformers, there are like 6 adenture titles. I am not going against nintendo here, you just named the wrong genres the Wii has third party wise. They got Horror, Comabt racers/driing games, puzzle, rail shooters, etc.But there's tons of third party support on the DS and Wii

They have a cult like dedication to Nintendo and refuse to join the modern world by deniyin things like online and HD and just about everything else. Nintendo has great games no doubt, but I honestly don't think they try to push the industry forward very much.
But the Wii U might change that direction.
They could release a mario game online cooperative game where one player plays as mario and other as luigi. nintendo are stupid.CrymeAriver
You go tell em, you brilliant game designer, you! :)Clearly you have a full design doc there, just ready for production. Tell those noobs at Nintendo how to make some games.
On topic, I never could. Then again I'm not a Nintendo ONLY fan. The last time I was content with just a Ninty console was the NES. I could have gone with an SNES and no Genesis and been fine, but it still would have sucked. Trying to be Ninty only after that would have just been awful.
Yeah, I don't know how they do it either, I mean I love Nintendo, but majority of my playing time comes from Sony and Microsoft.
mario 3 you can play as luigi and mario in the bonus levels that was fun as **** playing 2 player never understand why they never created a mario game letting lugi and mario play together like that.CrymeAriver
Yeah I never understood why they never created NSMBWii either... oh.
